Embrace Flow

I specialise in working with trauma, particularly in body centred approaches to reduce stress, tension and unpleasant emotional memories. My background is in Podiatry where I specialised in manual therapy and movement. I have worked for over 20 years in the UK and overseas and in this time noticed a consistent pattern of stress related illness in my practise. In search for broader modalities to calm and heal lower limb conditions I began linking a somatic framework into my practise and experienced profound effects. The tiro of stress that commonly affects people are chronic stress from our society, early childhood challenges or direct injury to the body. Each of these stresses create unconscious changes in the nervous system that can result in postures tightening, the natural flow within the body slowing and behaviours either speeding up or slowing down. I now solely work in helping people to understand their nervous system and teach them effective ways to become more centred and calm in their bodies and help guide the body towards its innate ability to self heal. I combine many modalities to create a personalised approach to meet individual needs. The modalities I work with are Integral Eye Movement Therapy, Somatic Therapy and TRE®. I work 1:1 and provide weekly group online classes. Working 1:1 allows change work to happen at a quicker pace and is adapted to suit your needs. 1:1 sessions can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly or when ever you feel you need it. The group online classes are there to offer cost effective, long term support as you feel necessary. If you would like to learn more I invite you to contact me for a FREE telephone conversation. This usually last between 10-20 minutes and provide us both with an opportunity to see if my services will be able helpful to you. You are under no obligation to make a booking as it is important you gain the information you need then reflect and use your intuition to choose the right practitioner for you. How to get started: If you like you can send me a message or request a quote for us to begin our conversation. I look forward to hearing for you when the time feels right. Warmly to you, Charlotte :)

What do you love most about your job?

I love helping people understand how their nervous system has amazingly kept them safe to the point they are at today despite it not feeling like its been favourable to them. It really is not difficult to understand and the self acceptance that happens when people learn how amazing their body has been creates a space to really allow profound healing to occur. I love showing people how they can release tension from the body and self manage their stress effectively and easily. It takes agency and self belief which isn't always easy for clients at the start but as their capacity grows with the work we do together seeing their self belief grow is joyful to witness.

What inspired you to start your own business?

What happened during 2020 really changed my perspective to where my energies were being placed. Like many I had a complete change in how I viewed the world. I was running a podiatry clinic in Australia for 10 years prior to 2020 that specialised in barefoot rehabilitation and holistic therapies. I have always been passionate about helping the body get back to its most optimal function and healing capacity. I had been studying trauma for some years, initially to help my understanding in what I was seeing in body postures presenting in a clinical space. It didn't take long to realise my own body was unconsciously operating from a survival pattern which created some years allowing my learning to absorb into my own life. Once I had immersed from my healing journey 2020 hit and its these events that drove my focus towards developing a practise working with trauma and the body.

Why should our clients choose you?

Working with anyone is a personal choice and relies on both nervous systems feeling safe and comfortable. This feeling is a felt sense I would ask for each person to decide for themselves after interacting with me.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I do work in person for those that don't mind travelling to me. I do a lot of work online via Zoom but can also work using WhatApp or Facebook Messenger.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Help clients to understand the power fear has on the immune system and show them ways to help alleviate that fear.
