‘19 Certificate of Excellence

I am a clinical hypnotherapist and psychotherapist. I am also a Lecturer in Hypnotherapy for the prestigious Clifton Practice based in Bristol, which is one of the biggest training school for Hypnotherapists in the UK. I use Solution Focused Therapy which is a modern and dynamic form of therapy using deep relaxation and trance to help people to clear negative thoughts and memories and to start focusing on positive aspects of their lives. . Is is known as brief therapy, taking usually between 6 to 12 sessions to complete (this is dependant on the issue and the client). I can help with depression, anxiety, insomnia, PTSD, IBS, panic attacks, phobias and fears, fibromyalgia and chronic persistent pain. Also I can work with children as long as they are ten years old and have a full current DBS which enables me to do so. If you would like to talk to me about my work and how I may be able to help you please make contact. we can arrange to meet up and I will explain to you exactly what I do and we can see if I can help. This initial meeting is completely FREE. There is no obligation to proceed into therapy sessions. You can find out more information by either looking at my face book page or website. I look forward to hearing from you.

What do you love most about your job?

Four years ago I worked in a very stressful environment, so much so that in the end it made me quite ill. I know what stress, insomnia and panic attacks feel like. I saw a therapist just like me and I got completely better. In fact I am happier and more together now than at any other time in my life. A year after this I was made redundant. I knew that I would use my redundancy monies to retrain, so that I could help people just like I had been helped. So my favourite thing about my job is saying goodbye to a client whose life has just been made so much better, and who is now armed with the knowledge not to need a therapist like me ever again.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have always worked for other people, so partly I wanted the experience, and partly I wanted a job which I needn’t retire from. So I can work for as long as I wish.

Why should our clients choose you?

You should choose me as your therapist because I practice Solution Focused Therapy which is the gold standard in hypnotherapy. It is very effective , I am reliable and I take my work seriously. I adhere to a governing body AfSFT and am committed to their regulations. My work is completely confidential.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I can work online or face to face. I currently work with clients from the USA and am about to start work with a client in Argentina. Distance is not an obstacle with online work, as long as you have a good internet connection, and a quiet space to work from, i.e. a bedroom.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

during COVID19, I worked completed online. I am only just returning to face to face now. Masks can be worn, and I disinfect my work space in between clients.

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the therapist holds.

This will depend on where you live, what level of training your therapist has and what they specialise in (whether they are a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) and also how many years of working experience they have.

Your professional therapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted therapist today.

You need to devote some time to finding the right therapist as the connection you have with your therapist is essential. You need someone who you can trust, someone you feel comfortable talking to about difficult subjects and intimate secrets, someone who will be a partner in your recovery. Therapy will not be effective unless you have this bond, so take some time in the beginning to find the right person.

It is worth talking to a few potential therapists and asking questions. Therapists also have special areas of focus, such as depression or eating disorders. For some issues, such as trauma or PTSD, seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.

Everyone’s treatment is different. How long your therapy lasts depends on many factors.

You may be offered a single session of counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your trusted Bark therapist.

Professional counsellor training takes three to five years and can be a diploma or degree level. Qualification requires a minimum number of client hours acquired through a work placement.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their therapy.

Therapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. Or it can help with an upsetting physical health condition such as infertility, a difficult life event such as a bereavement or a relationship breakdown. It can also be used to tackle difficult emotions such as low self-esteem, anger or sexual identity issues. Therapists also offer couples therapy. Therapists can also help with anxiety issues deriving from the coronavirus.

Absolutely! Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or through an online video chat platform, so you can have a session from the comfort of your own home - all you need is a strong internet connection and you're good to go.
