Leonie Klein

Hello. I am a qualified shiatsu practitioner (MRSS) with 15 years of experience. I feel passionate about offering my support to those who are willing to take the journey with me. I look forward to meeting you. Shiatsu is a safe and effective holistic therapy that supports and strengthens the body’s natural ability to heal and balance itself. Shiatsu is practiced on a futon on the floor, through clothing and each session lasts for an hour. I use finger, thumb and palm pressure alongside limb movement and rotations. Treatments can be strong and you will find they are often deeply releasing both physically and emotionally. Sometimes the experience becomes more subtle and you will notice a tangible energetic quality moving around the body. Shiatsu often brings the recipient into a deep state of relaxation which is where the most powerful healing can take place. Each treatment is a response to the individual in each moment. Please wear loose comfortable clothing, preferable cotton or similar. Call me to discuss further or to book your treatment. Other Treatments I offer: Aromatouch: This is a very subtle modality that involves a lighter touch on the back, neck and feet using an application of 8 different Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils. It works to bring the sympathetic and para-sypathetic nervous system into balance. It also supports the immune system, alleviates inflammation and reduces stress. You will also feel deeply relaxed. Each session lasts one hour and is practiced on a massage couch. Deep Tissue Massage Working at your optimal depth of pressure this massage finds tension in the body and releases it. 1 hr £50 1.5hrs £65

What do you love most about your job?

My passion lies in the incredible power of physical touch to connect, transform, support and heal. I have always loved giving and receiving massage and have long had a fascination in the relationship between body, spirit and soul-or what it means to be fully here, fully alive-in THIS BODY and be aware of being part of something bigger which I would call SOUL or the DIVINE. Since my late teens I have explored and immersed myself in many types of spiritual embodiment practices including Qi Gong, meditation, yoga and body-focussed dialogue alongside my ongoing bodywork and energy healing training and practice.
Through the therapies I offer, I invite you to become more comfortable in your physical body, more aligned with your authentic self and more present in your daily life so you can shine, inside and out.

Why should our clients choose you?

As an advanced practitioner with years of experience treating clients with massage, Leonie can instinctively find tension in the body quickly and has the expertise to work quickly to help get rid of it. In particular Leonie is experienced in dealing with the deeper emotional issues that can manifest as physical pain.
“Leonie has a deeply caring and professional approach that instantaneously opened up a channel for my own healing. It’s easy to have trust in her work by the complete presence you feel when she checks in with you at the start. I felt very safe and deeply relaxed with her touch as intuition clearly guides her hands. I highly recommend this therapist with her depth of emotional intelligence and experience in the therapeutic arts.”
– Sophie Bolton, Yoga Instructor

“I have been receiving Shiatsu from Leonie for a few years now. I remember the first thing that stood out for me about the sessions was how strong, effective and powerful they were, at the same time as being gentle and very nurturing.

Leonie starts each session by asking me how I am and if there is anything I would like her to focus on. Her depth of listening really helps me to settle in and allow myself to arrive and talk from the heart as much as possible. I can feel her acceptance and care.

Leonie’s clear direction and assuredness means that each session is precious time to let go into the healing, feeling safe and held.

As the hour continues I find myself going deeper and deeper into relaxation. I come out with a sense of being much more in my body. The nourishment stays with me palpably as I go through my day and I find Leonie has not only worked on the aspects that I knew needed some support, but she has threaded it all together and my whole system is moving with more awareness and presence.”
– Victoria Appleton, Events Organiser, Woodspring Farm

“Just wanted to thank you for the treatment yesterday. I slept heavily last night and again during the day today. It felt like being touched by something beyond the physical…by something heavenly”

Swedish massage - This is a gentle type of full body massage that is ideal for people who have a lot of tension, are sensitive touch and are new to massage. It can help to release muscle knots and is a good choice if you want to fully relax during your treatment.

Hot stone massage - Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. The massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands.

Aromatherapy massage - Aromatherapy massages are best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. Aromatherapy massages combine soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin.

Deep tissue massage - Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It is a good option if you have chronic muscle problems such as soreness, injury or imbalance.

Sports massage - Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you are prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries.

Trigger point massage - Trigger point massages are best suited for people who have injuries, chronic pain, a specific issue or condition. Sometimes areas of tightness in the muscle tissues, known as trigger points can cause pain in other parts of the body. By focusing on relieving trigger points, this type of massage can reduce pain.

Reflexology - Reflexology is a great option for people who are looking to relax or restore their natural energy levels. It is also a good option if you aren’t comfortable being touched on your entire body. Reflexology uses gentle to firm pressure on different pressure points of feet, hands or ears.

Shiatsu massage - Shiatsu massage is best for people who want to feel relaxed and relieve stress, pain and tension.

Thai massage - Thai massage is best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress.

Prenatal massage - Prenatal massage can be a safe way for women to get a massage during pregnancy. It can help reduce pregnancy body aches, reduce stress and ease muscle tension.

Couple’s massage - A couple’s massage is a massage that you do with your partner, friend or family member in the same room. Other treatments such as pedicures, facials, and body scrubs are sometimes offered as part of a package.

Chair massage - A chair massage is best for people who want a quick massage that focuses on your neck, shoulders and back. A chair massage can also be a way to introduce you to massage if you have never had one before. This type of massage uses light to medium pressure.

There are a number of factors that are worth considering before choosing your masseuse.

  • Choice – It is important to consider why you want a massage. Do you want to find relief from chronic pain or are you just looking for a way to relax? Deciding why you want to get a massage will help you narrow down your options and find the right massage therapist.

  • Comfort- Getting a massage is a great way to relax both physically and mentally. It is easier to take advantage of this benefit when you feel totally comfortable. That is why you should find a massage therapist that makes you feel comfortable and at ease.

  • Recommendations – You are likely to have at least one friend or family member that has visited a professional massage therapist and read their reviews on Bark.

You can be confident that any of the Bark local massage therapists listed will give you a relaxing and therapeutic massage.

You could look for massage therapists with a Level 3 Diploma in Massage or Complementary Therapies. The Council for Soft Tissue Therapies (GCMT) is the governing body for massage therapy and recommends that all massage therapists have taken a full or part-time course.

Before you choose a massage therapist, you could read testimonials and read details of their services on their website.

You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read massage reviews from past customers too. This might also help you get some ideas for the type of massage you want to book.
