Was treated by Tom for an injury to my MCL, from the moment i first phoned PhysioFitness it was a hassle free and professional service i received.Tom was able to see my injury the same day i phoned, something i have never experienced with any other physios or doctors. The injury was assessed and Tom soon set about getting me back playing Football again, showing me numerous exercises to regain strength as well as writing a detailed 3 week training programme, something i found very useful. After a few visits to see Tom my injury was healing well and he set me up with another 3 week cycle before i was able to resume full contact sport ready for the new season.A couple of weeks later i received an email from Tom who was checking my knee was recovering and feeling ok, which shows he always wants the best for the patient.Would recommend Tom and PhysioFitness to anybody that has suffered from an injury or is in need of a physio. Excellent from start to finish.

My back was diagnosed as a rotating pelvis immediately, the chiropractic treatment I received worked straight away and I was able to move without pain, I have a regular checkup with Naomi to correct any rotation that may have occurred, this gives me peace of mind as well as the confidence to carry on with my sports activities. On the recommendation of Naomi I have a monthly massage with Matt, this is usually the legs as I do a lot of running but has included the glutes and shoulder. I know that if I have a problem Matt will sort it. I find that both treatments complement each other and with the professional approach by Matt and Naomi it’s a win win.

Kalm to say the least - can't recommend enough!
Generally speaking I'm not one to write reviews, but I felt that Kalm deserved it and I wanted to write the review that I would have benefited from reading before I booked in.
I'm not sure why, but I always feel a bit anxious about booking in for something like this, with a new company, for the first time. It might be a little bit of fear of the unknown or just nervous about meeting new people.
Anyway all that went out the door the second I arrived for my treatment with Kayleigh. She was very warm, friendly and just genuinely nice.
The treatment room was beautifully decorated, private and relaxing.
Kayleigh was very professional and I really felt a difference between what she offers as a physio who does massage compared to the "hotel massages" I have had in the past.
Like I say, can't recommend enough.
I have had 3 sessions and have been so impressed that I have bought vouchers for my girls as birthday presents.
Thanks for the excellent work Kayleigh/Kalm

After hours and hours of exercise, my body aches daily from the tensions and stresses of working and training, I am fussy with massages and my first question to Jemma was, 'Do you do sports massages or do you do "sports massages" - (read between inverted commas as sarcasm for the wannabe out there that says they do deep tissue sports massages but in fact have no clue) - Jemma response was simply,'Come and try and you be the judge'.
Ever since then (more than 2 years now) every session with Jemma is amazing, relaxing, educational, inspiring, beneficial and just overall fantastic. I have recommended friends to see Jemma since I've known her and not one has yet complained... We all have the same outcome.... WOW. Thanks Jemma and I can't wait to see you grow and prosper..

I offer treatment to people who suffer with muscle pain, poor posture, poor flexibility and help them to live with less pain, more movement and an understanding of how they came to be in that situation in the first place. The treatments are offered out of 2 clinics. Highcliffe or Bournemouth. Sport Therapy is to release tension from tired, sore or injured muscles. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is to assist with removal of excess body fluid. Ear Candling is the gentle method of extracting excess ear wax from both children and adults who cannot or do not want to have their ears syringed.
I love being able to help people who come with pain in muscles, or postural issues and I can help ease out the tension and teach them how to correctly stretch to maintain their body with greater flexibility. they come in with concern and worries and leave with hope and smiles.
following 2 car accidents which led me to almost 9 years of recovery from whiplash.
I retrained while I was unable to continue work, and learnt that what had helped me to recover enabled me to pass on to other people through therapy of the muscular system.
I have probably been where they are with pain and it was not nice.
I recovered, and learnt how to cope with pain and how to reduce it.
I use various additional techniques to enhance my treatments that not many other therapists will be using, because I had to do the same when I recovered from my own pain.
I am a bubbly person who will explain in detail why your body is behaving the way it is at this moment in time. I offer treatments in a warm, friendly atmosphere where you will feel instantly relaxed and learn to trust me. If I do not think I can help you I will tell you!

What types of massages does a Massage Therapist offer?
Swedish massage - This is a gentle type of full body massage that is ideal for people who have a lot of tension, are sensitive touch and are new to massage. It can help to release muscle knots and is a good choice if you want to fully relax during your treatment.
Hot stone massage - Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. The massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands.
Aromatherapy massage - Aromatherapy massages are best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. Aromatherapy massages combine soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin.
Deep tissue massage - Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It is a good option if you have chronic muscle problems such as soreness, injury or imbalance.
Sports massage - Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you are prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries.
Trigger point massage - Trigger point massages are best suited for people who have injuries, chronic pain, a specific issue or condition. Sometimes areas of tightness in the muscle tissues, known as trigger points can cause pain in other parts of the body. By focusing on relieving trigger points, this type of massage can reduce pain.
Reflexology - Reflexology is a great option for people who are looking to relax or restore their natural energy levels. It is also a good option if you aren’t comfortable being touched on your entire body. Reflexology uses gentle to firm pressure on different pressure points of feet, hands or ears.
Shiatsu massage - Shiatsu massage is best for people who want to feel relaxed and relieve stress, pain and tension.
Thai massage - Thai massage is best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress.
Prenatal massage - Prenatal massage can be a safe way for women to get a massage during pregnancy. It can help reduce pregnancy body aches, reduce stress and ease muscle tension.
Couple’s massage - A couple’s massage is a massage that you do with your partner, friend or family member in the same room. Other treatments such as pedicures, facials, and body scrubs are sometimes offered as part of a package.
Chair massage - A chair massage is best for people who want a quick massage that focuses on your neck, shoulders and back. A chair massage can also be a way to introduce you to massage if you have never had one before. This type of massage uses light to medium pressure.
What should I consider before deciding on my massage therapist?
There are a number of factors that are worth considering before choosing your masseuse.
Choice – It is important to consider why you want a massage. Do you want to find relief from chronic pain or are you just looking for a way to relax? Deciding why you want to get a massage will help you narrow down your options and find the right massage therapist.
Comfort- Getting a massage is a great way to relax both physically and mentally. It is easier to take advantage of this benefit when you feel totally comfortable. That is why you should find a massage therapist that makes you feel comfortable and at ease.
Recommendations – You are likely to have at least one friend or family member that has visited a professional massage therapist and read their reviews on Bark.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local massage therapists listed will give you a relaxing and therapeutic massage.
How do I check the Massage Therapists’ credentials?
You could look for massage therapists with a Level 3 Diploma in Massage or Complementary Therapies. The Council for Soft Tissue Therapies (GCMT) is the governing body for massage therapy and recommends that all massage therapists have taken a full or part-time course.
Before you choose a massage therapist, you could read testimonials and read details of their services on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read massage reviews from past customers too. This might also help you get some ideas for the type of massage you want to book.
