What do you love most about your job?

What I love most about the coaching process is seeing the transformation of clients on their journey through self-discovery as they begin to realise that everything they need to know and understand is within their grasp. Coaching is a facilitation process and for those who are open to the coaching process- it can be a powerful and empowering experience. Coaching does not just solve the current issue or that which a client presents with, but it passes over a suite of tools and strategies for living more positively and more successfully with a greater perspective on what is important and how to prioritise this.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I became acutely aware that in order to be authentic I needed to 'walk the walk' as well as talking the talk. In order to live my life's purpose I had to channel what I felt were my special abilities to serve others. I feel that I have a special skill around inspiring and motivating others and in helping them to understand and believe in their own power. I want to live my passion by coaching others and passing on as much of my own energy and belief in both others and in the coaching process to support them to change their lives.

Why should our clients choose you?

I have an innate belief in peoples' ability to make the changes that they wish to in their lives and so I can hold that belief for them whilst they build their own self belief. I have a passion for building confidence and resilience in others and believe that it is my gift to the world and I am very keen to share it! I consider it to be a privilege to be asked to accompany a client on their personal journey of self discovery and I believe that I can make a difference in the life of anyone who is open to growing and changing for the better.

Your professional life coach will be able to advise you on the full range of coaching available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted life coach today.

You can have as many or as few life coaching sessions as you like. Many life coaches operate over the phone or via the internet so the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once every few months, some people have a session once a week.

Life coaching sessions will typically last up to an hour. Often after an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, via Skype/Zoom and occasionally through instant messaging.

During the session, your life coach will ask you a number of questions, such as what you want to achieve in life, what areas you're unhappy with and where you'd like to see yourself in the future. Although a life coach will work with you, it’s often up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas you have to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions you don't feel comfortable with and all sessions will be confidential.

Life coaching is focused on your present and your future. Coaching accepts your current reality and looks to improve your outcome moving forward. Life coaches are not health professionals and they do not diagnose you. By contrast, therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and patterns. It is analytical but not action-oriented.

Most mainstream health insurance providers do not cover the costs of life coaching because it is not considered a mental health profession in the same way therapists and counsellors are.

Life coaches do not need to have any formal or academic qualifications but you may want to look for life coaches who possess an industry-specific qualification, such as the Life Coaching Diploma or Personal Performance Diploma (PPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark, which shows you reviews from past customers who have used their life coaching services.

A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities. This can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions.

By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers.

Life coaches can specialise in one of these particular areas of coaching: career coaching, executive business, group coaching, health and wellbeing, performance management, personal development, relationships, retirement, spiritual and youth coaching.

Rapport is one of the most important parts of life coaching. If you feel uncomfortable with your professional, you are unlikely to gain much from the session. It is advisable to get in contact before you book a session to meet your life coach so you can gauge how comfortable you are in their presence. It is worth talking to a few potential life coaches and ask questions.

Yes! As long as you have a strong internet connection, then your life coach can deliver sessions via an online video chat platform. Alternatively, it can be done over the phone.
