I am based in the new forest but travel to the BCP area multiple times a week so can offer training where and when suits you! About Me! Hi, I’m Maria, the founder of The Compassionate Canine. I’m a qualified trainer with the IMDT and a reactive dog specialist (DTC certified) who is dedicated to helping owners and their dogs build stronger, more positive relationships. My training approach is rooted in modern, science-backed, force-free methods, ensuring your dog learns in a way that is both effective and ethical. I have a degree in human psychology (2:1, University of Liverpool), which gives me a deep understanding of how behavior is shaped by emotions, learning experiences, and the environment. Originally, I planned to become a clinical psychologist, but my lifelong love for animals led me to combine my knowledge of behaviour with my passion for dogs—helping both owners and their four-legged companions overcome challenges together. Online training - Online training allows me to work sith families outside of Dorest and Hampshire. With these packages you will get online video calls, regualr whatsapp communication and example videos. These prices are lower to reflect the fewer cost I experience. Online training often works better as the dog is not distracted by my presence and so I will see how things truly are rather than them on their best behaviour! London calling? For South west london clients (and surrounding Surrey area) I offer hybrid training. This is online with in person sessions once every 4 to 6 weeks or so to refine skills. However, I’d recommend a combination of online sessions and in-person visits to make the most of our time together. Prices may vary for clients further afield. Pricing I strive to keep my services affordable and accessible, ensuring you receive high-quality, science-backed training at a fair price. 1:1 Training Walks – Starting from £23 per hour Private 1:1 Lessons – Prices vary depending on the number of sessions booked, but I never charge more than £65 per hour. Multi-Session Packages – Committing to a block of sessions with a payment plan brings the cost down to £50 per session, which includes lesson notes and ongoing support outside of sessions.
