I love dogs. I love dogs running free. I love dog owner-pooch to be a team. Dog Training is simple. Start the moment you get your puppy. Let him/her off the lead. I can teach you how to train your dog and build up rapport for a life long super relationship. Don't use retractable leads please! This way you don't communicate with your four legged family member. I shpw you what to do :-)

Hiya I'm Harriet, a pet gundog trainer. I offer 1-2-1 help to pet owners who wish to transform their dog from chaos to calm in simple, practical steps. Problems that I help with are recall, lead pulling, separation anxiety, attention seeking, puppy training and general obedience.

Harriet is a total pro and took amazing care of our cat while we were away. Getting close to the holidays we were scared we were going to have to put our slowly aging cat into a cattery as we left it a bit late. Harriet was more than happy to come check in on our Orangie each day. We were at ease knowing he could stay home in his environment yet still be taken care of!

We called upon the help of B&D Professional Dog Walking Services as our two 1 year old Miniature Schnauzers we’re getting into the habit of darting to the front door whenever it ran and they both would jump up at any visitors entering through excitement. Having two makes it a lot harder but Sarah Came over and immediately addressed where we were going wrong. After just a few run throughs with Sarah my 11 year old and I had both dogs sat whilst the doorbell rang and they did not move when the door was opened. When someone entered she explained exactly how we should react and what type of behaviour we should reward. You can clearly see the love Sarah has for dogs and what a natural she is when training them (and us). I would absolutely recommend her to anyone that needs a few tips or training with their pups. Thanks again Sarah!

Ian has recently started walking our miniature dachshund, Lincoln. From the start Ian’s communication and his administration set up for regular walks was excellent and Lincoln took to him straight away. Ian is punctual, very professional and we are very happy we have him for Lincoln’s regular walks. Highly recommended.

I am a dog trainer with over 10 years experience within the industry. Over the past few years I have noticed that more dogs are displaying more complex behavioural issues. As the behaviourist at New Hope Rescue I am privileged to be able to work with some of the most trickiest dogs in the industry and for the last 10 years I have been working with private clients as well as continuing to give behavioural advice and support to several dog rescues. I works with dogs who have come from abroad who display a variety of behaviours from stranger issues to dogs to dog and biting. I am a positive reinforcement dog trainer who specialises in nervous dogs, dog socialisation, dogs with a bite history, dogs with dog to dog issues and separation anxiety issues. I work on a 121 basis and also run socialisation classes. I offer puppy training, safe guarding around children and general behavioural advice. Since lockdown I have been able to tailor my sessions to be zoom / FaceTime and WhatsApp video friendly. I can provide a 121 online and give you the tools to train in your own safe environment. You can check out my Facebook page The vegan dog trainer / and also take a look at New Hope Rescue to look at the work I do. Please contact me by email at t•••••@••••.com or via the telephone on 078•• ••••••.
The range of dogs I work with. From dogs from abroad, the pound or even puppies. No two dog are the same so my techniques change daily to incorporate this.
I also learn so much from the dogs. I challenge anyone who says they know it all in this industry as we are learning all the time.
Over the years how we look at dogs behaviour has moved on so much and tell us so much.
Seeing the dogs which come into rescue inspired me to start up my own company in order to keep dogs in the home.
A lot of behaviours have been learned young and are completely resolvable or manageable.
I’m a positive reinforcement trainer with a difference! I look into each dogs behaviour and work out an individual plan for them. As like people we all do not learn the same way. In all my sessions there is an element of play / relaxation as this helps the dogs and us learn.
I have developed a “slow it down” technique when working with dogs with a bite history or dog to dog issues.
And because I work in rescue I work with dogs on a daily basis with tricky challenging behaviours teaching them new techniques and making them safe for rehoming.
