We have a 4 year old cat and a 14 week old puppy. We have signed up for puppy classes but thought that a puppy foundation course would be helpful. Roy was great, he came over to our place, spent about 2.5 hours with us going through routines and basic training tips and giving us advice for introducing the puppy to the cat. Roy also provides further support until the puppy is 6 months old. He is a great trainer and very clear that he just loves dogs! I would highly recommend getting help from him for your puppy from day 0. Only wish we had contacted him sooner, rather than settling into bad habits, which we now need to undo.

Andrea was amazing and helped us with our 4 month old Westie puppy Max, who was extremely naughty, hyperactive and disobedient. After previously owning a Westie and him passing away 4 years ago, we finally decided to get another dog and thought another westie would be the perfect choice as we knew the breed so well, especially with two young children it was so important that we knew what to except!!! Unfortunately Max was completely different to what our old Westie was like and we were shocked with the difference in behaviour when we got Max. Max barked uncontrollably and would constantly bite our feet and want our attention. That’s when we got in touch with good dog. After Andrea came to see Max, only after her second visit and following all her advice, Max was like a completely different dog and I can not believe the change in him. I’ve had dogs all my life and thought I would never need a trainer to help me but Max was not what I expected and thanks to Andrea he now follows our instructions and is the loveliest affectionate dog and although we have trained him hard it’s not taken away his lovely character and personality. 121 Puppy Training. With many of us leading extremely busy lives not everyone has the time we would like to dedicate and train our new fur babies. The recommended method, and the one you and your puppy will get the most out of is for me to train the puppy's 'humans' how to train their puppy.
However, with work family and other commitments, that’s just not always possible. So I also offer the option to train your puppy for you.
This can be with you present, while you’re at work, or out, and will take place either in your own home, another suitable venue and/or a local park.
For the best results good training relies on repetition, reward and reinforcement, so your puppy continues to remember what they have learnt. With puppy training normally once per week, you can see that most of the ‘reinforcement’ needs to be done by you as the ‘human’.
All training will be backed up by handouts that allow you to easily continue reinforcing what your puppy has learned. For a solid all-round training of the basic commands, this normally takes puppies about 4-6 months of training, mostly by you in small short sessions. However, if you then consider you are going to have 10-15 years or more with your polite, well behaved and happy dog, it’s well worth putting in the effort at the very beginning when they are easiest to train. Of course all puppies are different and just like us some take longer to train, whilst others may be super quick.
I am happy to offer single one off sessions or as a discount package.
At the end of the training I will carry out a handover session with you to discuss your puppy's progress, what they have learned and what to do going forward. (This will be by video call or telephone call).
I am fully insured, with a clear DBS check and am also trained in Pet First Aid and CPR.
