We attended a 6 week puppy course with Maggie and a private session with Gail. Both were fantastic and gave us so much confidence with our new puppy. The trainers clearly know their stuff and love dogs. Their methods are ethical and backed by science. An added bonus is that my puppy really enjoys training as a result! We are going to be joining their next scent work course - can’t wait! Many thanks to Gail & Maggie for equipping us with all the tools we need to help our puppy grow into a happy member of our family. More...

We can’t recommend Gail highly enough, so if you are looking to train your puppy or have fun learning dog agility, Gail is absolutely brilliant. She is patient, kind, caring and understanding with both the dogs and dog owners. We first met her when we decided to train our puppy Bailey and she came to our home for a ‘one to one’ session and taught us to communicate with our little fur baby in a way that created a wonderful bond between us. Everything she said made total sense and apart from being able to wash the dishes, Bailey will do everything we ask. His recall is faultless and we have been asked on countless occasions about who helped train him. This is all thanks to Gail and her training. We are now attending the SIP ‘fun’ dog agility classes and have progressed in leaps and bounds. Please don’t hesitate to ask Gail for help with your dog, as she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and has a kind and caring nature with a huge passion for dog training. Our Cockerpoo really benefited from the socialisation. Gail and Maggie were both excellent trainers we got so much out of the sessions, our dog really learnt a lot, and is a much more confident dog as a result. Can not rate highly enough and booking on for the next session as so good! More...

What do you love most about your job?
Watching the bond grow between dogs and their owners. Those light bulb moments never get boring!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having had my own dogs since 1987, I've enjoyed judging and competing at Agility. My 3rd border collie was dog reactive through no fault of his own. This inspired me to learn more about canine psychology and body language so I could help Strike to live a happy, contented life. Becoming a professional, qualified trainer seemed the next logical step to help others, starting with a great foundation with puppies, to helping owners cope with their puppy's challenging adolescence, settling rescue dogs happily into their new homes. We also teach Scentwork and Agility, great for all breeds but especially the working breeds that love a job to do and using their incredibly busy brains.
Why should our clients choose you?
We at CIP will only use positive reinforced reward based training. We set the dogs up to succeed, showing them how to do this, rather than waiting for them to make a mistake and punishing them. Balanced trainers will use reward and punishment eg shock or prong collars. Here at CIP, all of our trainers are fully qualified and we pride ourselves on our ethics of training.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Depending on our client's needs, we do offer online training but the majority of our training is in person, either in group classes or one to one sessions where we come to you.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We will rearrange appointments if one of our trainers has Covid, as we understand many families have vulnerable people who we need to keep safe.
CIP Puppy Training
We teach nice manners, social skills, mental enrichment, canine body language and basic obedience such as walking nicely on the lead, recalls, etc. We offer one to one sessions where we come to you (helpful if your puppy isn't fully vaccinated yet) and a 6 week block of Group classes. Subject to availability, we offer further 6 week blocks, the first being our Teens Class to help you deal with that tricky adolescence phase!
CIP TEENS Groups and One to One Sessions
So your beautiful puppy has become a teenager! Our Teens training helps you to understand how your puppy struggles with adolescence and we help you through it to the other side of adulthood.
CIP AGILITY
We offer group classes at TN12 6SD. Beginners upwards. We also offer one to one sessions for reactive dogs, so you and your dog can both relax and have some fun. Any breed can do Agility
and its especially great for working breeds to give them a job and improve your bond. Mentally enriching and mentally tiring, win win! Our trainer, Gail, has been doing Agility since 1988, both competing, judging and instructing.
CIP SCENTWORK
Scentwork is amazing! Dogs see the world through their sense of smell. 40% of their brain is dedicated to scent, so not only is it incredibly enriching for them but is also mentally tiring, win win! Also helpful if you lose your keys!! You will be astonished at their natural skills and so, so proud! Great for all breeds and brilliant if you have a working breed that loves a job!
CIP Mixed Age Dog Training
Groups and one to one sessions on offer. We cover all the basics such as recall, loose lead walking, handling, social skills, canine body language, emergency stops and so much more. Group classes are in 6 week blocks with the offer to continue onto further 6 week blocks, refining your skills and learning new exercises such as scentwork. No age limit. Our oldest client, a cavalier, was 16 years old!
CIP One to One Sessions
For all ages and puppies not yet fully vaccinated (as we come to you), so we can get some nice manners and foundations in place.
Struggling with your teenage dog or settling in a new rescue.
Problems with walking nicely on the lead, recall, chewing, reactivity, jumping up, etc.
We are based in TN12 but we also offer CIP One to One sessions in Bromley, Orpington and Sevenoaks area.
CIP Improvers
Having successfully completed one of our 6 week blocks, we offer our CIP Improvers group classes. We work to improve your existing skills whilst working on many new ones.
