Overwhelmed by your dog's requirements? Is your dog showing challenging behaviours? Does your busy schedule make it difficult to attend classes? Home based training can be the answer! I teach your dog manners and life skills and teach you how to train your dog to bring out the best in them. I use only positive reward based training methods which teach your dog the skills that they need to make healthy choices for themselves. These techniques are fun for owners and dogs alike!! Typically I meet with the owner and their dog(s) in their home, or nearby park. We work on obediance, and life skills that make life easier for the whole family.
meeting so many wonderful owners and adorable dogs and puppies.
Helping them to have a better life together, and teaching the dog the skills that they need to make healthy decisions for themselves!
I worked with dogs for almost 10 years as a dog walker, veterinary assistant, and at animal shelters. I wanted specialized training, so I studied for an MSc degree at the University of Edinburgh in Animal Welfare and Animal Behaviour, so I had a good theoretical and scientifc basis for understanding dog and cat beahviour.
I then completed the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) Advanced Training Course to learn the best reward based, positive reinforcement approach to training. Based on these expericens, I had a solid approach to training dogs and puppies, and I wanted the freedom to work with clients in the best way possible.
I have a lot of practical experience working with dogs and their people.
My studies have given me a theoretical basis for what we do as trainers.
I love my job!
