I am a senior clinician counsellor of nearly thirty years experience, who has helped women and men with many types of counselling and psychotherapy issues, including childhood trauma, loss, shock, anxiety, depression, marriage and relationship problems, loss of life direction, etc. I work from an Integrative Transpersonal model, which is inclusive of many different layers of being and working, and which uses a person's creative imagination and dreams, as a way of contacting and understanding their unconscious. This can be life changing and very healing. After leaving school, I attended Trinity College of Music, London, going both a degree and a Fellowship. I then worked as a teacher of music in comprehensive schools for fourteen years. This was followed by over ten years of being extremely ill with ME. As the medical profession could not provide any answers, let alone a cure, I was forced to plough my own furrow back towards health via dietary therapy, accupunture, massage, reflexology, kinesiology, tai-chi, spiritual healing, spiritual guidance, being in nature, counselling groups and years of solo psychotherapy. I was a client, firstly, twice a week with a transpersonal psychotherapist for five years, and then for three years with a bio-energetic bodywork therapist. It was just too interesting to stop! During this time I completed the initial Counselling and Psychotherapy Diploma at The Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education, London, following it with the Advanced Diploma, Supervision Training, and several years of dream work training culminating in a Diploma. A different sort of experience was gained by attending weekend workshops on many different subjects from men's work, to tai-chi, to body work, to how-can-women-and-men-get-on-together workshops, to bereavement weeks. Simultaneously, I began seeing individual clients and running group workshops from my home. Some clients came for just one session, some for a run of six or twelve, some for several years, some on an occasional basis. From 1996, I have been a member of staff at CCPE, where I trained, as a group facilitator of first, second, and third year weekends, as a supervisor of second, third, and fourth year student's client work, as a marker and tutor of student's academic work, as a musician during some lectures, as Head of the Staff Supervision Group, and as a lecturer on the Advanced Diploma. My main work is now in Preston where I was born, and to which I returned to bury my parents. I see counselling and psychotherapy clients at my home, am a supervisor of other professional therapists nationally by Skype, and return to London for five weekends a year as a third year facilitator, musician, and Advanced Diploma lecturer. I am UKCP registered, and, as a requirement of that registration, fully insured professionally. My home is in the north of Preston, near both public bus routes from the town centre to Ingol and Tarletan, and the Preston M6 exit of the Blackpool motorway. There is plenty of free parking space.

What do you love most about your job?

People. Changing people's lives and view of themselves. Enabling people to do things they would never have dreamed possible. This could be you as well!

Every one of us is different and individual, in our sorrows, our joys, our hang-ups, our needs. Some people need short term work, some need long term work, some just pointing in the right direction so they can fly. I am happy to work with you, my reader today, in any of these ways.

What inspired you to start your own business?

When I was desperately ill with M.E. in the late 1980s, I met a man who seemed to know more about me than I did. He has been my teacher and life guide ever since.

Why should our clients choose you?

Because there are not many other Senior Clinician Psychotherapists in Preston - or even Lancashire - and certainly no-one with an Integrative Transpersonal training and outlook that encompasses the whole of the human being.
And, because, at sixty-seven years of age, I have had a lot of time to think things through, as well as having a lot of very varied life-experience. Fortunately for everyone, and particularly myself, I have come to some rather positive conclusions about life!
