A Word of Caution Regarding Bathroom Refurbishment Services

I strongly advise against hiring this team for any home improvement projects. Despite their polished business cards and convincing pitches, they are far from professionals.

Faisal, who is the main contact, is a handyman at best — he may be able to fix things, but he lacks expertise in any specialized field. Najma, on the other hand, will charm you with sweet talk to convince you to hire them, but please beware.

I made the mistake of hiring them for a bathroom refurbishment based on their claim that they could start the work immediately, as they had a "big project" scheduled for the following week. This fit well with my schedule, as I was on holiday and thought I could monitor the work closely. However, I soon realized that they operate more like daily laborers rather than skilled professionals.

The job involved:

Replacing bathroom tiles

Installing a new extractor fan

Extending the wall with timber

Replacing an old shower cubicle with a larger one

They promised the work would take 3 days, while other professionals quoted me 7 days. I trusted them to work longer hours to complete the project faster. However, the reality was far from what was promised.

After 4 days of work, I returned home from work to find the job far from satisfactory. Some of the tiles that were supposedly fixed that day had no adhesive or were only partially glued, leaving large gaps. When I called them, they assured me they would fill the gaps the next day, but it was clear they were simply patching over poor workmanship.

I then contacted a friend of mine, a professional builder, who reviewed the situation after I sent him pictures. His findings were shocking:

They used ceramic adhesive for porcelain tiles, which is entirely unsuitable for that material.

They pasted the tiles directly onto an extended timber frame using glue, instead of the proper methods for tiling.

They had no understanding of the correct tiling layout, leaving a large gap at the top and intending to cover it with UPVC, which is not an appropriate solution.

They used a blunt tile cutter, leaving the tiles with rough, unfinished edges.

The adhesive was applied unevenly — some areas had too much, while others had none at all, leading to poor adhesion.

Based on this experience, I can confidently say that these are not professionals but rather people with minimal knowledge, tools, and expertise. They are handymen at best, not specialists in tiling, bathroom refurbishments, or any of the services they offer.

Please take my advice and avoid falling into the same trap I did. Look for qualified professionals who have the skills, knowledge, and proper tools to do the job right. More...
