I recently hired Martin White of Vision to Reality (4 Franklyn Gardens, NG8 3NZ) to re-plaster my entire three-bedroom house, including the halls, landing, bathroom, and kitchen. The project was initially quoted to be completed within 7-8 days, but this timeline was not adhered to, and the quality of work delivered was extremely substandard.
On a random visit to check on the progress, I found the plasterers arriving at 3 pm, and they reeked of alcohol and cannabis. This was highly unprofessional and immediately raised concerns about the quality of their work. My concerns were validated when I saw multiple cracks in the plasterwork, uneven surfaces, and a generally unsightly appearance. Additionally, there was damage to plug sockets and light switches, which was unacceptable.
Due to the poor quality of work and unprofessional behavior, I instructed Martin to cease working on my property. Despite already receiving a 50% deposit, the work was far from satisfactory. I informed him that I would obtain three quotes for the remedial work, and if these quotes were less than the remaining balance owed to him, the difference would be paid to him in due course.
After instructing Martin to stop work, I left his tools outside of the property, which he collected. However, he subsequently entered my property without permission and removed bags of plaster without my consent, which I reported to the police.
Furthermore, Martin tried to charge extra for plastering the ceilings, despite this not being included in his original quote. This additional charge was not communicated beforehand and added to the overall negative experience. Martin was deceitful and conniving. He did not complete the work himself but instead used different teams of plasterers, resulting in an inconsistent finish. He did not manage the project effectively or else he would have noticed the substandard level of workmanship by the plasterers he had employed.
In summary, if you choose to use Vision to Reality for your building works, make sure to meticulously review all agreements and monitor the work closely. Recently had a extension, new kitchen and a loft conversion completed by vtr, great staff and communication gave good advice when needed, they carried out electrics, plastering, plumbing and fitted a new boiler, brand new kitchen and flooring through out.
