How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
The first thing to look for is the height of the roof space. If it’s spacious with the correct height then you can proceed with a full conversion. If the height and space isn’t available then a dormer would be more appropriate.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
Check what space is available to decide whether a full conversion is possible.
Decide the configuration of the stairs.
Fit steels to support floor joists and steel for ridge beam if applicable.
Cut out roof for either Velux or dormer.
Start the insulation process, plastering and other decorative work.
