Seeing one of the South Devon Players performances is an immersive, emotional experience. For a small company, they pack a huge punch, both in the quality of their acting and the ambitious settings of their shows. This year I have seen a terrific Macbeth by them (which won an award in June at the prestigious Long Island Community Theatre Awards in New York State) and also a really first rate adaptation of Hugo's Les Miserables. Worked with the South Devon Players for their 2013 production of Les Misérables. Got along wonderfully with the cast. South Devon Players has the right balance of being a friendly group to work with, whilst taking the actual performance itself seriously.

The South Devon Players are a fantastic group of people. They are so much more than an am dram group. They are a mixture of people who come together to bring fabulous, professional theater and film productions to us, the public. They welcome all abilities, spend time helping and teaching those who want to be a part of their productions, but have not yet been able to progress in an acting role. Everyone is an equal. Went to see this team in their performance of Jack the Ripper in summer 2017, Ripper was amazing, with the steampunk adaptation and Mordred in 2016, the way they brought all the tales and the legends of King Arthur to life, was incredible . The lead actor , Richard Sandford, playing Mordred should be a Hollywood star - the most amazing acting I have ever seen. I would recommend this team in an instant. More...
