What do you love most about your job?
I can save my clients a lot of time stress and money and, as a consequence give them greater confidence and clarity in the decisions they have to make. In addition I get to help with the things I struggled with when I first started beyond the skills and experience issues. Like confidence, courage, resilience, action taking and so on. In my years of experience and working with hundreds of business people, it is these invisible challenges that are the true determinants of whether someone will be successful or not in business.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I left a $250,000 a year job in banking because I simply wasn't happy. On my leaving day a large group of colleagues gathered round my farewell cake and a graduate asked me why I was leaving the bank. Especially as, on the face of it, I was doing so well.
My answer was simple.
I said that if I get to aged 75 and I'm luckily enough to have Grandchildren, if one of them asks, "tell us about your life Granddad?" I want to tell them that it was a full life, that i took some risks, that I walked to the beat of my own drummer and that I had no regrets.
I didn't know then what a challenging, sometimes painful journey it would be being an entrepreneur and founder, but I have grown so much and I regret nothing.
If I had remained in the bank, I would have had a quiet life, with a reasonable retirement pot and a swimming pool full of regrets at the life I didn't have. This is why I took the road less travelled and started my own business.
Why should our clients choose you?
There are three reasons.
Firstly, I am NOT a domain expert, like an accountant or 'social media expert'. I have done this in the real world and have a huge amount of very practical experience to share, as a consequence.
Secondly, I am also running an AI start up and I'm constantly up-skilling new ways to grow businesses using the next generation of AI-enabled sales/marketing tools. So my skills are not just practical but relevant to today's challenges.
Thirdly, because I don't B.S. anyone. If i think your idea won't work, or if I think you're struggling personally because I'm spotting the early signs of burnout. I will tell you, with compassion of course, but the message will be crystal clear.
