Wow! What can I say? I don’t think any words I write will do justice for just how incredible Sonore string quartet are and how special they made our wedding on the 18. 12.21 at Claridges. From start to finish they have been so warm, friendly and professional. They are extremely organised and keep on top of everything from booking, to song selections, to the running of the day and all the logistics. They made everything so easy and I had no stress or worry from the moment I booked I knew they were going to be amazing and they were. They're very versatile across just about any musical genre and are also lovely people who are patient and nice to deal with. They played at my 65th birthday celebration and guests told me afterwards that some of them really enjoyed playing 'name that tune'! Unfortunately, because of space limitations at the venue I could only book two of them (a violinist and a cellist) but they more than made up for this by managing to sound like a full orchestra. Struck exactly the right balance of music choices and volume to be enjoyable without being too obtrusive and definitely made a big difference to the evening. Sonore String Quartet performed at our wedding on Saturday 4th May 2019 in Shrewsbury and we couldn’t be happier! They played as our guests arrived, the ceremony and reception drinks. From the initial enquiry we were extremely happy with the personal service we received from Kathryn, responses were helpful and quick - even when we were delayed ourselves. We took a while to decide on our song choices, but Kathryn and the rest of the group were very accommodating and played a huge range of styles for us, from a suggestion from the grooms grandad to learning a song especially for the groom (Final Fantasy sound track) which he absolutely loved for before the ceremony. On to classical and modern pop for the rest. Even though the sun was shining the air was cold being an outdoor ceremony but they all played through it like troopers to enable us to have our dream ceremony. Once again, a huge thank you to all of you in Sonore String Quartet for making the journey to be a part of our wedding day, both the two of us and our guests LOVED having you there and listening to you play. What do you love most about your job?
We love playing and are great friends, so we love having the opportunity to perform and enhance clients’ special events.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We have been performing together for over ten years and so we decided that we would form a quartet who would be available for events as well as working towards concerts that we would like to perform in.
Why should our clients choose you?
We have a huge amount of experience between us (well over 100 years combined expertise) and are flexible in our approach.
We can offer a quartet, trio and duo option and we can also arrange pieces if they aren’t already in our collection.
Music to make your event sparkle
Sonore is a well-established group having worked together for over 20 years as freelance musicians and have been established as a quartet for 5 years. We pride ourselves on using the same core group of players and have a small group of trusted colleagues as ‘deps’.
Sonore have a huge and wide-ranging repertoire of over 800 songs.
We offer bespoke arrangements of your favourite pieces.
Sonore can provide you with a string quartet; violin, viola and cello trio or a violin and cello duo.
