How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Be structurally sound.
Have a damp-proof course.
Have wall, floor and loft insulation so it is energy efficient.
Have had all electrics safety tested.
Be moisture proofed, with good ventilation.
Have been fire-proofed and have escape routes.

How long have you been in business?
We have been in business for just over 1 year but have has a previous business which was built over 20 years before selling to a multi regional contractor, I stayed within the business for a further 5 years before moving into major construction, Residential, Office, Hotels & Student Accommodation for a further 6 years before setting up Select Maintenance Services Limited.
What guarantee does your work come with?
Our company is associated with various independent verified organisations and are full members with all federations on which trades we provide, we have a full insurance package with Zurich Insurance Services with an Contractors All Risk policy.
What do you love most about your job?
The most enjoyment the team get is leaving a project knowing that our client has got a great job and it exceeded their expectations.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My desire to delivery projects professionally and not sit on the sidelines watching others not provide the correct level of workmanship the client has been costed for.

Prospective clients will be provided with professional and friendly tradespeople who will treat the properties with the respect that is expected, we have many existing clients who have become friends or call for advice for friends or if we can help with recommendations on a trade we don’t provide in-house. One client is on record stating they were so chuffed they picked our company to carry out their projects.

First meetings etc can be carried out online along with discussions with architects and engineers but most of the work is site based.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Like most contractors at the moment we have appointing COVID personnel on site and have introduced a COVID policy relating to new PPE standards along with social distancing and van COVID policies.
