This man stole! official Apple components from my MacBook!!! I took my Apple MacBook to Richard at PC Hospital in March 2022 to get a screen repaired after an accident. Communication was quite difficult but a quote was agreed and the work carried out. Everything seemed ok... but it wasn't. My MacBook was just 1 year old, so pretty brand new and the only thing wrong with it was the screen. Richard confirmed he could replace the screen with an official Apple screen with Touch Bar, exactly to spec. It was expensive but I trusted he was being honest with me. However, 2 years on my laptop has started to have issues (battery not charging and screen wobbly/loose not going to sleep) and I took it to the Genius Bar at the Apple store. They opened it up and confirmed that the screen has screws missing, the battery had been replaced with an unofficial third party battery!!!, and the software was unable to communicate with the new components as this is a service only Apple can do (something that was not explained to me). So when I recently did a software update, suddenly the battery no longer works with the computer and doesn't charge, because he STOLE the 1 year old (in perfect working order) Apple battery and replaced it with a third party battery without me knowing. The cost to repair his mistakes is £900 (I already paid him £500 for just the screen). I have tried to contact Richard on a few occasions to get an explanation but no response so I have no choice but to write an honest review of my experience here. I would strongly suggest you shop around a few other places before trusting Richard to repair your MacBook, or other computer. More...

Quick, qualitative, best price and profesionalism. Contacted them when I almost gave up, thinking I cant fix my laptop. These people spoke with me on the phone, patiently letting me explain everything. They come back with a quote for the repairs needed, and we agree on it. Laptop is picked up in the next days. The due diligence they did was impecable. Not only they fixed my display issues, but also identified other critical problems to the Battery, SSD and display chip which they fixed promptly. My PC with 14 years of precious and personal data / photographs crashed yesterday before I was able to transfer the files to an external hard drive. I had accidently stepped on my laptop and discovered a hairline crack across the screen. I called PC hospital and gave them the laptop details and they went away to investigate. I was called back later in the day with various options to go forward (brand new screen vs refurbished screen) and a breakdown of costs for both. Although ultimately I didn't decide to go for the repair (the replacement touchscreen was out of budget), PC hospital were very proactive and helpful throughout the process and cannot fault them whatsoever. I used Richard for a full screen replacement of my Dell XPS laptop. I received quotes from around 5 other places and PC Hospital was the cheapest. They provided three levels of quotes (used screen, full hd new, and 4k screen). RIchard was excellent and I highly recommend. Let me recap why I think he's absolutely worth the money: -My PC died on 10/09/2021. Wouldn't even switch on. - Richard came to diagnose 12/09/2021, I originally suspected a PSU fault, he had actually found through testing/diagnostics that the motherboard was the issue and not the PSU. - I ordered a replacement motherboard and CPU (took this as an opportunity to upgrade, rather than finding an LGA2011V3 socket MB...) - Richard came to fit the motherboard and CPU, unfortunately we were missing an LGA1151 bracket - Ordered a new AIO cooler, just so we could get the parts fast. Richard came the next day to fit this. - Richard spent nearly 4 tireless hours assembling, crimping cables, trying to fit the motherboard into a very confined corsair case provided by Scan 3XS. He didn't give up and eventually we were able to POST fully. - PC is running great now, and in fact my games have an increased performance boost because i'm on a 9th gen i7 now. I would have had a great deal of difficulty (1) arriving to the conclusion it was the motherboard without first wasting money on a new PSU! and (2) assembling the new motherboard into such a tight case without Richard. Richard helped me out recently, troubleshooting my newly built machine. I was able to use some of the components that Richard brought with him on the day. He is knowledgeable enough but I was mostly able to diagnose the problem myself after using the components - my takeaway was that the processor was faulty and indeed that's what it turned out to be. I cannot "thank" Richard from PC Hospital enough for the First Class service that he provided me with when I had a major problem with my desktop PC and the whole operating system had stopped working. Firstly I was extremely pleased that he was able to come to my home /office some 3hrs after speaking with him on the telephone. He was extremely knowledgeable and left me with the problem resolved. Unfortunately I hit a slight problem the following day after his visit which was nothing to do with his work; and I telephoned him a few times in order for him to talk me through a small problem that I had on my PC and he was extremely patient and nothing was too much trouble for him, in fact he called me back later that to day to check if the problem had been resolved and to make sure I was happy with the service he provided. This review is a bit late but I thought it worth writing anyway! Last April I suffered a motherboard/CPU failure on my laptop. It's a high end ultra-book so Richard wasn't able to supply the part but once I was able to source a working replacement part, his team was able to fit the part. I had to pay 150 pounds even though my computer was never fixed.- Consultant was incompetent. He first told me it was my motherboard which was incorrect, then my power supply which was incorrect, then my RAM which was incorrect. All were independently validated by my supplier, Overclockers.- Consultant was rude. He told me he had bigger problems to worry about than some gaming computer not working.- Consultant and London IT Support were impossible to get hold of and never kept me informed. Don't believe the 24 hour customer service; I called, emailed and tried there website many many times and NEVER heard back.- Took me 6 months to get my computer back and it was still not fixed.Avoid like the plague, they are the WORST company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.Here is a longer description for anyone interested in the minutiae:I booked an appointment in December. On the day the consultant was supposed to come to fix my computer, I received a phone call to tell me he had forgotten. We rescheduled for the end of December.
