How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Most Garages are suitable for a conversion, but before we go ahead with any work we would have get one of our experts to give us the OK to build.
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
Once we have been given the OK to build we would build from the ground up starting with any foundations (if needed) and insulating the ground floor.
Once the floors are complete we would work on the roof making it water tight and insulating the ceilings.
Then we would move onto the walls, insulating them with a Insulated Plasterboard, plaster boarding the ceilings and finishing it of with a skim of plaster, everything after that point is decoration, paint colours, carpets or wood floor ect.
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
To tell if you have the suitable space for a loft you would have to measure from the top of the joist to the bottom of the A pex. The lowest we would recommend is 2.1 meters although we have been a approved and built 1.8 meters we wouldn't recommend it.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
To build a successful loft conversion we would start buy getting the scaffolding up on day one with a working platform (this is key for a smooth build), we would then remove the roof covering and structure, install new floor joists install the new RSJs to support the new timber work then start installing the new roof.
Once the main structure is completed we would move inside to start the insulation, plasterboard and the most important bit... 'The stairs', once electrics and plumbing is done then everything after that would be decoration (carpets, color paint, ect)
