I commenced my career in highway engineering working as an apprentice for Enfield Council. During this time I successfully completed an NVQ and National Diploma Level 3 in Civil Engineering whilst working on a wide range of civil engineering projects. These included culvert inspections to street lighting surveys through to major regeneration projects within the borough.

Once completing the apprenticeship, I moved to Transport Planning Associates where I have now obtained a HNC in Civil Engineering. I was in search of new challenges and opportunities to further my experience. Whilst at TPA I have worked on various Highway Infrastructure projects largely managing projects involving S278, S184 and S50 Agreements, delivering the schemes to a high standard on time and to budget.

I joined Opus (which is now WSP) in 2015 starting in the Integrated Transport Projects & Safety Team in January 2016 as an Assistant Engineer. I then got promoted to Engineer and moved to the Development Management Implementation team as well as being the Assistant Head of Profession for Innovation, Technical and Sustainability, working two days a week directly under Huw Hamer (Head of Profession)

Once I left WSP joint venture with Hertfordshire County Council, I joined Bedfordshire Borough Council as a Senior Transport Planner on a 8 month contract basis. This role entailed dealing with applications daily for potential new development within the area. I also help with clearing the backlog of applications that have mounted due to lack of staff and am proud to say that with the help of the team we have managed to clear a backlog of over 100 applications in just 3 months.

Whilst I was at Bedford Borough Council, I also set up my own Limited Consultancy JPDesign and Planning Solutions. In my first year of trading I managed to invoice a substantial amount of works, which consisted of Transport Statements/Assessments as well as S278 packages of works and other ad hoc CAD work (Permitted Development Drawings for Houses) and Swept Path Analysis.

We are also involved in property development (small extensions to new builds) from concept all the way through obtaining relevant planning permissions with the Local Planning Authority. We offer planning drawings, structural calculations, building regulation drawings and can recommend our approved contractors to undertake the build on your behalf.
