What do you love most about your job?
Over the past twenty years I have completed hundreds of projects from building two story extensions, converting garages, re-fitting shopping outlets, fitting kitchens and bathrooms to hanging mirrors and doors. I pride myself in being multi skilled in joinery, electrics, building and plumbing work and endeavour to complete work to the highest standard, which I personally would expect from any trades person. The majority of my work is from private individuals and is purely on recommendation but I also hold three maintenance contracts for a children's play centre, a property management company and a tea room. My working days are flexible and I can accommodate most requests for appointments, quotes and advice ensuring that the work I complete is done with care, commitment and within schedule and budget. I can plan ahead to schedule completion of work for example my maintenance at a local school and during requests for my services outside my locality. I willingly accept all enquiries from fixing a tap to damp proofing and regularly get asked by customers to book a day for small lists of repair and maintenance work at their convenience. I own my own vehicle, tools and am happy to advise customers on their plans, use of materials and purchase of them. I have good relationships with local agencies, building control and regulations and have built a wide network of specialist providers to give me and my customers the best opportunity to fulfil each project to its full potential. Many customers have requested bespoke requirements and I particularly enjoy problem solving with limited spaces and maximising opportunities to improve living conditions.
What inspired you to start your own business?
As a young man I starting working for the government as a carpenter and progressed to improving my multi skills approach
