What do you love most about your job?
At Amica HR, we are serious about employment law and passionate about Human Resources. Since our formation in 2012 as B&G HR, our company has changed and evolved. We have worked for large blue chip organisations such as AMEC Foster Wheeler, EDF Energy, NHS, National Coal Board and Experian. This experience was invaluable and has enabled us to share our knowledge with small and medium sized companies, adding value to their operations.
In September 2017, we re-branded as Amica HR, and although our brand name has changed our core values remain untouched. The overarching principles that guide our approach are based on integrity, collaboration, empowerment, responsibility and respect. We still go the extra mile with our commitment and willingness to deliver a truly positive experience for our business clients.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We were inspired to start our business to enable us to offer HR services that enable companies and organisations to grow and evolve, providing a ‘can do’ approach to people management, operating with the core values of plain English and pragmatic solutions, timely solutions to people management.

Yes, we have systems in place to support our clients on a remote basis, whilst ensuring the best possible service is delivered by our friendly and supportive team.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We have moved to providing services including training to online platforms where possible, in addition, to support clients who need to meet in person, we are conducting lateral flow testing twice a week as a team.

For a monthly fixed fee, you can sign up for our retained HR services which could include some of the following:
- Expert email and telephone support and advice on any day to day or complex employment law and HR issues. This could include disciplinary, grievances and investigations, performance management, appraisals, sickness absence, terms and conditions of employment, employee leave management, etc.
- Provision of bespoke and personalised HR documentation such as policies, procedures, contracts of employment and letters to ensure legal compliance and minimise litigation risks.
- Access to our business partners who offer occupational health, payroll, health and safety, leadership training and employee management information systems (HR software).
- Employment protection cover - as part of our comprehensive Retained HR Service, your business would become a beneficiary of our Employment Protection Cover, protecting your business financially in the event of any employee disputes.
