So, here are the four basic principles of what makes a good website to keep in mind before your redesign/launch:

Purpose. Great design starts with a purpose in mind. Ask yourself, “What do I want to accomplish with this page?” If a page doesn’t have a clear purpose, consider getting rid of it.

Aesthetically pleasing or visual design is very important but your site needs to look good. If your site looks like it was built in the 90’s, it’s time for an update.

Relevant and original content. Your site should show content that’s relevant to your target market and original. Plagiarism is illegal and penalised by Google.

Besides, it’s better to be a first-rate version of yourself than a second-rate version of someone else.

Clear site navigation. I’ll discuss this further if you choose me. But know that navigation matters. Any page on your site should be within three clicks of any other page on your site. Your navigation should be intuitive and simple. This helps both Google for SEO and your visitors for navigation.

Creativity does not just happen. It is a cognitive process that produces new ideas or transforms old ideas into updated concepts.

1. Preparation - During the preparation step of the creative process model, an individual becomes curious after encountering a problem. Examples of problems can include an artistic challenge or an assignment to write a paper. During this stage, I may perform research, creates goals, organise thoughts and brainstorm as different ideas formulate.

2. Incubation - While I begin to process the idea, I begin to synthesize them using my imagination and begin to construct a creation.

3. Illumination - As ideas begin to mature, I have an epiphany regarding how to piece my thoughts together in a manner that makes sense. The moment of illumination can happen unexpectedly.

4. Evaluation - After a solution reveals itself in an epiphany, I then evaluate whether the insight is worth the pursuit. I may make changes to this solution so it is clearer. I may consult with colleagues regarding my insights during this step before pursuing it further. I may seek a client’s input and approval before moving on to the next step.

5. Implementation - The implementation of an idea or solution in the creative process model is when I begin the process of transforming my thoughts into a final product. For example, during this step, a painter may begin outlining shapes on a canvas with charcoal before applying oil paints to the medium.
