We've stayed at the Newtown House Hotel many times. Visits dating back as far as 20 years! Without fail, we've always had a wonderful stay. ||This lovely hotel which caters for weddings and loads of other parties (as well as families,) is a comfortable hotel a mere 5-10 minute walk away from the sea front. Rooms are very tidy and meet expectations. But I think the best thing about the hotel is the staff. The staff have an excellent work ethic and really are the backbone of this place. They had two events on Sat 07/12/19 one was a wedding reception and one a wake. Although they were rushed off their feet, they made fantastic use of time management to ensure everyone was served and was happy. There is a lot to be said for that. Also the staff were very helpful at breakfast, one of them helped my Nan get her food (my Nan can't move around very well,) and they made sure she had all the right things and the right portion sizes. I think that went above and beyond their job role and it made us feel really valued and appreciated.||It's things like this that really make the Newtown a very special place and we truly felt like royalty during our stay! Stayed here with friends over the weekend of the 15/18 November, very freindly reception and easy check in. We had 3 rooms between our group, all were lovely with really comfy beds,,our room was a nice size and very clean, big comfy double bed, wardrobe, safety deposit box, tea and coffee make in facilities, we all ate in the hotel restaurant the first night,we all chose something different and all the meals were lovely . There was entertainment in the hotel Saturday night, for the ticket price you get a main meal and a pudding, the food again was| excellent as was the entertainment,, the bar area and lounge has a really nice atmosphere, we also had breakfast every morning which was cooked fresh and was lovely,, over all a very lovely stay and we will deffenatly stay here again, More...

We went down to Hauling Island to visit some friends and they recommended the Newtown Hotel. So glad they did, from checking in to check out time the staff couldn't do enough for us. The rooms are lovely, very clean and ample tea and coffee. We ate in the restaurant and it was delicious. On the Saturday night they had a Cliff Richard tribute act and even though we're not Cliff fans the show was really entertaining. |Would definitely recommend. More...

We came to meet friends for the Elvis Night & had a blast. The bar staff were really friendly & helpful, the food was amazing and our bedroom was spotless. Absolutely fantastic hotel. ||Room was immaculate,( thank you house keeping staff)spacious room ( two tiny grumbles..no hot water in bathroom sink and no socket near mirror for hairdryer) but otherwise all perfect. ||The staff were lovely especially the lady in the morning taking orders for breakfast.||Thank you to the chef(s)! Stayed here overnight in the 26 October 2019 .. the hotel looked lovely from the outside and did not disappoint when we got inside . .. we had a twin room ... it was modern and spotlessly clean ... we decided to eat in their restaurant as the weather was so dismal. The menu had a good selection in it- something for everyone ... we opted for the carbonara ... it was massive!!! really tasty and left us stuffed - we still managed pudding - the pavlova was huge too. Breakfast was a buffet and again the food did not disappoint.. I found the staff really friendly and helpful .. I would certainly stay there again More...

A little isolated. Dinner average. Room 3 over reception located toilet facility causing quite a noise each time fan based hand dryer activated. Maybe revert to paper hand towels?

We had our wedding reception in the hotel 4 years ago so thought it would be nice to visit with our little girl on our anniversary. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and kind, always someone around if you need something but not in your face. They were very busy but the lady with blonde hair (didn’t catch her name) in particular was fantastic and didn’t let anything phase her. The food was lovely. Stayed the one night (Sunday). Very comfortable room in the annex, which also had a walk-out balcony area. Fan provided. Very comfortable bed. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed after 5pm on a Sunday so was not able to eat at the hotel that evening. The Monday was a Bank Holiday and breakfast was not served until 8am. Hotel chosen because of proximity to Car Ferry Port at Portsmouth, but we missed breakfast because we had to leave for the ferry. Virtually impossible to get out of Hayling Island on a Sunday - traffic was horrendous. Only one access bridge off the island.Impossible to find a restaurant open on the island on a Sunday evening.
