Leicestershire

I first launched my freelance business in Leicester over 10 years ago, where I worked on a number of magazine shoots and editorial work. This was how I was found and approached by MAC Cosmetics, who I’d worked with for 10 years (left august 2018) there after, developing my skills and qualifications until I was the highest qualified makeup artist for MAC in Leicester, and recognised as a brand product specialist. Since January 2018, my studio has expanded, both in services and size, and now offers an accredited training school for future artists. I personally work with every bride, but bring a team of personally picked specialists with me for larger groups and projects. ✅ Makeup services - For weddings and parties ✅ Hair-styling - For weddings and parties ✅ Bouncy Blow-drys ✅ Russian / Individual Lash Extensions ✅ LED facial mask skin therapy ✅ Accredited and Non Accredited training courses ✅ Freelance Hair and makeup services ✅ Skin Consultation with Products to purchase ✅ And much more

What do you love most about your job?

There’s something uniquely satisfying about being a makeup artist. The hours are crazy, it’s a long process of trial, experience and effort to gain recognition and yet… and yet it’s incredibly fulfilling.

Ask any bride and you’ll soon understand the importance – and the impact – professional makeup can have on their day. I am a part of making every bride feel unique, stunningly, gloriously beautiful and confident on a day they will never forget.

Some brides choose to apply their own makeup for their wedding. However, many prefer to have their makeup professionally applied to ensure that it looks perfect for their big day. Having your makeup professionally applied for your wedding also gives you that bit of pampering on your wedding day, allowing you to relax whilst an expert makes you look great.

Many brides wonder whether their hair or makeup should be done first on their wedding day. Ideally, you’ll have your hair styled first and your makeup applied afterwards. This is because the heat from the styling tools could cause your makeup to run. However, don’t worry if your schedule means that your makeup needs to be applied first. Hiring a professional wedding makeup artist and hairdresser will ensure that your hair and makeup both look perfect for your wedding, no matter which order they need to take place.

Ideally, you should have your makeup applied 1-2 hours before you need to set off for your wedding ceremony. You’ll ideally have your hair styled first, and then your makeup applied, leaving enough time to get changed into your dress before the ceremony. Most brides choose for their bridesmaids to have their hair and makeup done first, with the bride being last. This ensures that your hair and makeup last for as long as possible.
