Paul Kelly coaching & consultancy

‘21 Certificate of Excellence

I started Paul Kelly Coaching & Consulting because I wanted to do things differently. After more than 30 years in leadership, training, and personal development, from boardrooms and government groups to charities and universities, I’ve seen too many people being told what they can’t do, or being pushed into boxes that didn’t fit them. I wanted to build something that gave people the chance to break free of that and see what’s really possible. At the heart of everything I do is curiosity, creativity, and community. Whether it’s one-to-one coaching, leadership development, business consulting, or training through PKG Academy, the aim is the same: to help people find balance, cut through the noise, and unlock the possibility potential they already have inside them. I’m not about quick fixes or fluffy motivation. I focus on the deeper work, the stuff that creates change that lasts, and when that happens for one person, it doesn’t stay with them. It ripples out into their family, their workplace, their community. That ripple effect is what drives me every single day. I work with clients online across the UK and beyond, and in person from offices in Paisley and Fort William, as well as other spaces around the country. Whether online, face-to-face, or a hybrid of both, my work is always honest, practical, and grounded in real life.

What do you love most about your job?

What I love most about my work is seeing people surprise themselves.

I’ve coached leaders who’ve lost their spark and found it again, and I’ve worked with people who’ve been carrying around old doubts, trauma, or limiting beliefs for years, and then, suddenly, something shifts. They realise they’re not stuck after all, there not broken! They’ve got more in them and the moment they see that for themselves… that’s the magic.

Change doesn’t always look dramatic at the start. Sometimes it’s just a flicker, a small step, a different choice, a question asked in a new way.

However I’ve learned those small things matter.

They build momentum, not motivation but true momentum and then the motivation follows.

Once someone starts to believe in themselves, that change doesn’t stop with them, It ripples outward, onto their families, their relationships, their teams at work.

One person breaking through a barrier can change the whole atmosphere around them.

That’s what keeps me doing this. It’s not about quick fixes or fluffy motivation, it’s about helping people dig deep, face the tough stuff, and come out stronger and clearer.

Whether I’m working with a CEO, a frontline manager, or someone just trying to find their way through life’s challenges, I get to walk alongside them as they find balance, resilience, and their true north, and watching the ripple effect of that spread further than either of us imagined… that’s the real reward.

What inspired you to start your own business?

What inspired me to start my own business?

Honestly, it was a mix of frustration and belief.

I’d spent years in senior management, advising government groups, working with charities, and training thousands of people. Time and again, I saw the same thing, people boxed in by systems, told what they couldn’t do, or carrying the weight of other people’s expectations.

It frustrated me because I knew, deep down, there was always more possibility than they were being shown.

I know that personally, too, I’ve been through challenges and losses of my own. I’ve been told I wouldn’t achieve much. I’ve had to fight to prove otherwise.

That experience gave me both empathy and determination, empathy for people who feel stuck or written off, and determination to show them they can go further than they think.

Starting Paul Kelly Coaching & Consulting, and later founding PKG Academy, was my way of breaking free from those limit, both for myself and for the people I work with. I wanted to create something authentic, human, and different: a space where curiosity, creativity, and community lead the way, and where people can discover their true north.

What really drives me is the ripple effect. When one person grows, heals, or finds balance, it doesn’t just stop with them. It shifts how they show up with their family, their team, and their community.

That impact multiplies.

And being part of that process, helping someone spark change that reaches far beyond them — is what inspired me then, and keeps me inspired now.

Why should our clients choose you?

Why should clients choose me?

Simply - Because I’ve lived it, not just learned it.

I’ve been in senior corporate roles where the pressure is relentless, I’ve advised government, I’ve trained thousands of people, and I’ve also been through my own personal challenges and losses. I know what it’s like to sit in the boardroom with big decisions on your shoulders, and I know what it’s like to feel written off, doubted, or stuck. That mix of resilience, experience, and empathy is what I bring to the table.

I don’t do surface level training or fluffy motivation. I work with people to dig deeper, to get to the real barriers that hold them back and help them find the courage, clarity, and practical tools to move forward.

Sometimes that means asking tough questions, sometimes it’s about building confidence step by step, but it’s always honest, human, and focused on creating change that lasts.

I work with leaders who want to inspire their teams, managers who feel the weight of responsibility, and individuals facing their own personal challenges.

No matter where they start from, the goal is the same: to help them grow, to shift perspective, and to build resilience. And when that happens, it doesn’t just stay with them. It creates a ripple effect that transforms families, teams, and whole communities.

Clients choose me because I’m real. I bring curiosity, creativity, and authenticity into everything I do, and I care deeply about the people I work with. If you want someone who won’t just tick boxes but will challenge, support, and walk alongside you while you find your true north, then I’m the right person to work with.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes, absolutely. Most of my services are available online, and that’s often the easiest way for people to connect, whether it’s one-to-one coaching, group sessions, or training.

I also work face-to-face from my base in Paisley, Central Scotland, and from Fort William, with access to other spaces across the country when needed.

I often travel around the UK to work with clients and organisations, so if it’s important to meet in person, that’s possible.

For many people, a hybrid approach works best, mixing online flexibility with the impact of in-person sessions.

Whether it’s coaching, consulting, or training through PKG Academy, I make sure the format fits the client, not the other way around.
