I am a very versatile photographer with experience across a range of environments and disciplines. From fashion models to food and from commercial to portrait work, I'm easy to work with, reliable and of course professional.
Superb photos and a lovely experience! Spike couldn’t be more helpful and attentive. He produced lovely portraits with the whole family enjoying the shoot (including the dogs!). Will definitely be using him again.
I specialise in product, event, and location photography and have experience helping artists and crafts people with their photographic needs.
My business is designed around your convenience, so while I have access to good studio space, I can also work in your own space if that suits you better.
I am a graduate of the Photography Institute’s Diploma of Professional Photography.
Andy has photographed recent Tedx University of Edinburgh events. He clearly enjoys photographing. He's delightful to work with and quickly built a rapport with those of us who were presenting. He captured the best moments for each speaker and his photos were a great record for the day, and captured the excitement and atmosphere of the event.
Andy is not only professional, he's personal, which creates an accurate photo of the experience.
I currently have some of his work on my website at www.shewalkstheearth.com
I couldn't recommend Andy enough!!
City Headshots are based in the heart of Edinburgh city centre in a friendly studio on Frederick Street. We love photographing people and specialise in personal and company branding photography. In particular we produce headshots for business professionals, actors and models.
As well as working in our studio, we are also fully equipped to work out on location photographing events and property interiors, or setting up a mobile studio in an office meeting room to photograph staff.
Working with people to get the best from each job. That and the occasional first class air travel or luxury hotel .
Why should our clients choose you?
I am established professional who has experience shooting locally and globally. I am used to overcoming the problems that often occur. I have been rescued from drowning, been chased by lions, hung out of helicopters and shot Rock Stars and Royalty.
I will not be the cheapest (nor the most expensive). I am fully insured, own all my own equipment - 8 lighting kits. I use the best quality lenses and cameras and have more experience than most. I am experienced in retouching and my work has appeared on billboards, magazines and on line. I do big budget and small budget shoots
I am a founding member of the first annual photography festival in Scotland and own the only commercial photography gallery in the country.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've never done anything else. I wanted to have the creative freedom to make my own decisions.
What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
A good knowledge of composition and lighting is crucial but should become almost instinctive. When shooting people I am much more concerned with conveying that persons personality, bot always possible or desirable when it comes to formal business shots
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I am pretty flexible on shoots but I do like to know that what I am aiming for and what the client expects are the same. eg if a client says they want something a 'bit different', my idea of different and the clients could be very different. If it is corporate work I like to make sure the clients know what to wear ie shirts must be clean and ironed (if there is no stylist to do this), the space available, the time allocated etc.
It really all depends on the shoot but I have so much experience I am not one for getting flustered, there is always a solution.
