Happy pets with Jess! profile image

Happy pets with Jess!

Hello my name is Jess. I'm a experienced pet carer providing services in Guildford and surrounding villages. I am a friendly and reliable person who has a genuine love for animals and their welfare. I am fully covered with pet sitting, pet taxi and dog walking insurance. Whilst with your pet, I will send you photo updates so that you can see you pet is being well cared for and having fun. Please see below the services that I offer: -free meet and greet so that we can get to know each other (including your pet!) and ensure that we are all a good match before a booking -daily visits to your home to feed/play/clean litter for your cat (a less stressful alternative to a cattery for your cat!) whilst you are away -kitten and puppy care in your home -drop in dog sitter visits to your home if your dog is anxious -fish/small pet feeding -Hamster boarding -small tasks whilst you are away i.e. collect post/parcels, water plats, open and close curtains etc. Unfortunately I do not stay in your home with your pet whilst you are on holiday or offer home boarding for cats or dogs. I have a number of regular customers, please see testimonials below: 5 stars 'I just moved to the UK from the US, and I have a really skittish kitty. Jess was able to come visit before I went out of town to meet her and was very patient . Even though my cat was stubborn and hid under the couch every time Jess came by, I still got a photo and an update. I'd highly recommend her!' 5 stars 'She's perfect! Just what we needed and I feel so lucky to have found her. Jess is great with our year old (slightly bonkers) Labrador - she's so much fun and really caring. Jess is professional and reliable and I would highly recommend her.' 5 stars 'Absolutely wonderful pet sitter. She was calm and comfortable with my new rescue Sam and sent me pics to keep me updated.' Please see my photos and Q&A to find out why I love my job, what inspired me to set up my own business and why you should choose me to look after your pet!

What do you love most about your job?

The best part of my job is getting to know the quirks and personalities of each pet that I care for. I love building a relationship with each pet so that I can tailor my care to their needs...whether that is extra tummy tickles or special praise for good behaviour! One of the key questions that I ask during meet and greets is 'is there anything that your pet particularly likes'. As a result, I can ensure that each and every experience your pet has with me is the best it can be.

I also love the fact that all of the owners I meet really love their pets and care deeply about their welfare. This is exactly the reason why they are using my services to ensure that their pet is happy and safe whilst they are away. It's really great to meet like-minded people that have a passion for animals.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have always absolutely adored animals and have been surrounded by them my whole life. Whilst other little girls were dreaming about getting married...I would be dreaming about puppies, kitten, ponies (...the list goes on!). My inspiration for starting my own business actually came whilst volunteering a animal welfare charities in Surrey (Mane Chance Sanctuary and Wildlife Aid). Volunteering to help animals was such a rewarding and enjoyable experience, I realised that I had to make the jump and start my own business with animals and their welfare at the heart of it.

Why should our clients choose you?

If you are looking for a friendly and reliable person who will care for your pet as if it is their own then you should choose me! I know how nerve-wracking it can be leaving your pet (they are a huge part of the family after all!) so I encourage all owners to meet me before proceeding with any booking. The meet and greet is really important because it gives you the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have and to see how I interact with your pet. It is also important for me to meet you and your pet to ensure that we are all a good match. There is no obligation to proceed with a booking after the meet and greet...although I haven't been turned down yet!

Whilst caring for your pet I will send you regular updates, including photos so that you can see that they are being well cared for and having fun. For your peace of mind, my business is also fully insured! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I look forward to chatting to you about how I can help you.

Many people choose to use a pet sitter for the knowledge that their pet is in safe and caring hands. Many pet sitters are happy to regularly communicate with you by sending photos and videos, so you know your pet is being cared for while you’re away. Hiring a pet sitter to look after your pet in your own home also means that you won’t have to transport your pet or worry about them being in a new environment.

The decision between hiring a dog sitter or using kennels is a personal choice and depends largely on your dog’s temperament. Dogs who are prone to being lonely or nervous often prefer to be cared for by a dog sitter in their own home as they enjoy the close and personal contact. If you choose to put your dog in kennels, you’ll also need to ensure that your dog is vaccinated against kennel cough.

The best way to ensure that your pet sitter is reputable and trustworthy is through recommendations from previous customers. When you hire a pet sitter on Bark, you can browse the profiles of local professionals and read genuine reviews from former clients to ensure that you’re choosing the right carer for your pet.
