The whole process of working with Elena was brilliant and seamless. Initially I was torn between two designers but essentially I went with Elena because I enjoyed our initial conversation - she was authentically herself and also listened and got the bits of my personality out of me. She also mentioned this user friendly programme we would use and that also sold me. Plus I liked the colours in her portfolio.
When she was instructed and we had our initial chat, she was able to do the same thing again, and we had a good conversation, and the ultimate design she created was ideal for my first home. I recall I gave a few names of what I wanted my home to be - i.e. modern, traditional, cosy etc but she took that brief and ran with it and implemented my home with so many aspects of my personality (like my love of period dramas - I have a few nods to that in my design). I'm sure she would say we co-created because she listened to me and what I liked, but ultimately it was all her design and hard work, so I would recommend her to anyone.
She is available on a WhatsApp like app. Further, she uses a cool programme that allows you to update comments on the design as it's in process and before it's finalised. She'll give her honest opinion if she thinks something will work or not. It definitely felt like a collaborative experience and I am genuinely excited to see how everything looks once it's all up. I am even getting excited when I receive items like the curtains, which I would never have found myself, but the ones for my living room look so cool and will be a feature in itself, I cannot wait to see how everything looks.

In 2011, I bought an old stone barn in the countryside of Bordeaux, France. After several disappointments with designers in the area, I met Roman who instantly made me feel at ease and made me a proposal that perfectly summed-up my needs as well as my wishes. Roman oversaw the construction and renovation of the building over the course of two years and made my 450 square-meter barn into a true home. He was especially sensitive to the need for light in the large spaces and knew where best to create large window openings despite my initial worries.
