Leah’s Walks

Hi! My name is Leah and I love animals, especially dogs! I’m a Dog Walker based in West London. I can take your dogs for walks or I can house sit them while you away on holiday! Currently available every Monday, Tuesday and Fridays. My family loves dogs, however we don’t have one in the family yet. Being able to look after yours is a great fit for me. I used to look after my friends Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Due to her health she couldn’t walk him, so I helped him get exercise, took him to the vets and what ever else she couldn’t manage. It meant I got plenty of exercise too! Dogs are amazing because when you get to know each other, your friends for life. I love being in the outdoors, visiting different parks for new experiences. Helping people out with the bonus of getting to look after their precious dogs is great! As a Walker I aim to provide is love and care for your dog in a fun (but disciplined) environment!

What do you love most about your job?

I love being out in nature with a dog by my side, enjoying the calm in our busy lives. Also I love helping people out with circumstances where I can be a problem solver for them.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Due to her health a dear friend of mine, couldn't walk her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, so I offered to exercise him for her, take him to the vets and do whatever else she couldn't manage. He became my mini buddy and went everywhere with me! It meant I got lots of exercise as well as being able to help a friend in need.

I understand how it important it is to have someone you can rely on to care for your precious pooch. Helping out dog owners in need with walking or sitting is a joy.

Why should our clients choose you?

I will treat your dog as if they were my own. I love finding out about all their individual behaviours so we can both enjoy good walks and give you peace of mind. I want to continue to improve so I’m studying for my certification in dog walking, training and behaviours.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Instead of normally doing a meet and greet at your house, I like to meet in a park of your choice. I carry hand sanitisers and wear my mask when meeting clients.

The price of hiring a dog walker will depend on the area of the UK in which you live, with prices typically higher in the South of England and particularly in London. The cost of hiring a dog walker will often be lower in the North of England and in Scotland and Wales.

The most important thing when you’re hiring a dog walker is that both you and your dog trust them. You should also ensure that your dog walker has public liability insurance that covers them in case of damage, accident or loss. The best way to find a reliable and trustworthy dog walker is by reading reviews of previous clients. When you hire a dog walker through Bark, you can browse the profiles of dog walkers in your local area and read honest reviews from genuine customers.

It is recommended that a dog walker should walk a maximum of four dogs at a time, to enable them to maintain good control of each dog. Most dog walkers will give you the option of having your dog walked alone or with other dogs. Walking with other dogs will help your dog to develop valuable social skills. However, if your dog is reactive, you may prefer for them to be walked alone.
