What do you love most about your job?

Easy, spending time with dogs. The whole reason i set up my business is i love being with and walking dogs.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I've always owned dogs. I've trained them, competed in agility when i was younger and always loved being involved with dogs. Another love of mine is walking and hiking, during which i've always had my dog as my companion. When family and friends would see my adventures, and see how much my dog was enjoying himself they would always ask me to take their dog too, and a dog walking business grew naturally from that.

Why should our clients choose you?

I offer a professional, friendly and flexible service that can cater for your dog's personal needs. During my group walks i take a maximum of 4 dogs so i can keep a full control and focus on your dog and provide them with any specialised input they may require. I offer dog days out, adventures and hikes where i can take your dog off into the countryside for anywhere from 2 hours to complete days, and incorperate activities such as running and swimming. I am happy to work alongside any training you may be doing with your dog, incorperating your particular words of command and helping to develop skills such as walking on a lead and recall.

The price of hiring a dog walker will depend on the area of the UK in which you live, with prices typically higher in the South of England and particularly in London. The cost of hiring a dog walker will often be lower in the North of England and in Scotland and Wales.

The most important thing when you’re hiring a dog walker is that both you and your dog trust them. You should also ensure that your dog walker has public liability insurance that covers them in case of damage, accident or loss. The best way to find a reliable and trustworthy dog walker is by reading reviews of previous clients. When you hire a dog walker through Bark, you can browse the profiles of dog walkers in your local area and read honest reviews from genuine customers.

It is recommended that a dog walker should walk a maximum of four dogs at a time, to enable them to maintain good control of each dog. Most dog walkers will give you the option of having your dog walked alone or with other dogs. Walking with other dogs will help your dog to develop valuable social skills. However, if your dog is reactive, you may prefer for them to be walked alone.
