Christine Gould

Christine Gould, MA, Cert.Hyp, DABCH, MABCH, MCAHyp. Registered with the Complementary and National Healthcare Council. An accomplished Advanced Hypnotherapist, Hypnohealer and Counsellor with over 30 years’ experience of which 27 years have included working in the NHS. Regardless of whether you are seeking to overcome problems or wish to maximise your creative, artistic or sporting performance, treatments are personally tailored to meet each individual’s desired outcomes. In general I work with clients between 3 - 6 sessions however, the average is 3 or 4. Appointments are available during the day, evenings and weekends at mutually convenient times. It is important to realise that when you are not born with troubling concerns, these can be effectively overcome with hypnotherapy. In essence hypnotherapy is similar to updating files on a computer and every client has their own answers within. It isn’t always necessary to revisit the underlying cause, which is an unresolved issue from the past, and usually something very trivial in respect of whom you are today. My role is to facilitate change and help release clients from stress, anxiety, depression, worry, sleep disorders, bereavement, loss, phobias or other presenting debilitating issues. Everyone has the opportunity to boost their confidence, self-esteem and enhance their relaxation skills - all fundamental to leading a fulfilling, happy and healthy lifestyle. Clients are taught a range of techniques that can be applied for the duration of life and mp3 recordings are provided for support between sessions and to reinforce the work we do. All enquiries are confidential and without obligation. www.hypnotherapistnorthamptonshire.com www.christinegould.com

What do you love most about your job?

It is very rewarding to witness the benefits client’s experience in usually 3 or 4 sessions. Solution focused therapy empowers clients to improve their lives and become their ‘ideal self!’

What inspired you to start your own business?

Following redundancy from education the next, natural, step was to start my own business. Hence, my part time hobby as a Counsellor and Advanced Hypnotherapist became my full time occupation. During the past 28 years I have run a thriving practice in the heart of England treating both youngsters and adults.

Why should our clients choose you?

Working for over 27 years’ in the NHS is testament that the services I provide are respected and valued for their therapeutic benefits. I treat every client in the way I wish to be treated. Having experienced therapy as part of my training, it is a privilege and pleasure to provide a bespoke service that facilitates change with the aim of achieving the desired outcomes in the quickest, cheapest and most effective manner.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Skype and telephone services have been provided nationally and internationally for several years. These are the ideal option during the pandemic and lockdowns. The flexibility of technology has enabled clients to benefit from therapy in the comfort of their own home regardless of location. Results are equally as effective as when attending in person.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

All the Government Guidelines are adhered to so that clients may enter a Covid-19 free, safe and secure environment.

Counselling FAQs

Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.

At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.

Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:

  • Face to face session

  • Group session

  • Phone session

  • Email session

  • Online through live chat services or video conferencing software

You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.

You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.

You could look for Counsellors that are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) which means that they have met the PSA’s required professional standards to practise.

Before you choose a Counsellor, you could read testimonials and read details of the issues they can help with on their website.

You could also look at their profile page on Bark and check out reviews from past customers too.

Counselling can help with many issues. These include the following:

  • Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or eating disorders.

  • Physical health conditions such as infertility.

  • Difficult life events such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress.

  • Dealing with difficult emotions such as low self-esteem or anger.

  • Sexual identity issues.

  • Divorce.

  • Redundancy and work issues.

  • Phobias and fears.

Absolutely! Many Counsellors provide their services remotely via an online video call or the telephone. Not only is it more convenient, but it's also the preferable option for many people who would feel more comfortable holding the session from the comfort of their own home.
