Wye Talk

‘20 Certificate of Excellence

1. The basics I've been providing counselling, mostly face-to-face, but also on-line, since 2012 when I left Bristol University with a PostGraduate Diploma in Counselling. 2. Why Wye Talk? I enjoy hearing people talk however difficult this may feel to them. I've spent 25 years as a market researcher (so I'm used to listening), I believe talking can be tremendously beneficial to individuals ... and I live near the River Wye. 3. My motivation I feel it's a real privilege to hear people's stories and their tales of anxiety, frustration, sadness, anger, confusion and, at times, utter bewilderment. I've gone through a huge amount of personal loss in the last 15 years which I've survived (so far, at least), and I'm keen to help others get through any type of loss they may be experiencing either now or in the past. Any sort of loss takes time for readjustment and whilst this is happening, you may feel worried, scared and uncertain as to the best way forward. This is where talking to someone who will not judge you, under any circumstance, but will listen, listen some more, and listen again, can be of huge value. I promise to be your listener, your rock, and support you throughout whatever it is you're going through. We are all flawed. I'm flawed, and that's normal. Call me, text or email, and I'd love to hear your story so that we can work together until you find a more rewarding and enjoyable way of living again. Claire 07971816541

What do you love most about your job?

I love hearing people's stories and gain immense satisfaction from working with people to overcome their difficulties, the things that keep them awake at night, that won't go away.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I've always done work which involves talking to people, and talking to people about things that are really important to them is the best sort of conversation you can possibly have.
I've gone through numerous losses of my own in the last ten years (relating to relationships, finances, my home, my health) and I know how it can feel. I've developed ways of coping and want to be able to share these with others!

Why should our clients choose you?

I've a huge amount of personal experiences of things going 'wrong' in life. Some of it's been my fault, but not all, and I've learned a huge amount along the way. This, alongside more formal training in counselling gives me a wealth of experience which I can draw on to help you.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes, I frequently see people on Zoom and also on Facetime, both of which I feel can be highly effective.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I have seen more people virtually rather than face to face because of Covid but the latter is increasing again now that restrictions are less restrictive. If meeting face to face I will wear a mask if the client wants me to but otherwise work mask-free. The centres I use for seeing people are constantly cleaning to high Covid standards in order to minimise risks.
