Steve came to our rescue during lockdown when our large garden became too much with three young children at home. He’s approachable and professional and continues to do a great job on our garden.

Gardening

Steve made it so easy from start to finish. Came round for ten minutes, then sent me a (very reasonable) quote by email within a couple of days. Agreed the quote and a date to come and sort it and they did the whole garden in a day. Cut down a fir tree, returfed the lawn, re-did the whole bedding area and more! It looks amazing and we can’t thank them enough! We definitely recommend them and will be using them again in future! More...

Q&As

I love being outdoors, being creative and working with plants, so naturally gardening is the job for me

I have been in the gardening industry for over a decade, having worked in all areas, design through to construction and maintenance. I have all the knowledge and experience necessary to run my own business

I offer a different service from most gardening companies, Being experienced and qualified I like to not only maintain garden spaces but to enhance then through seasonal planting, new designs and use proper pruning techniques in order for your plants and flowers to show their maximum potential

Services

Being a qualified garden designer, I know good design starts with you, the customer.

The project will begin with meeting you to discuss your intent of use and what your desired look and maintenance will be, and of course the budget! These are all integral parts of the design process in order to achieve your ideal outdoor space.

Plants are critical to give the garden its overall structure and theme; whether its Japanese, English cottage or even tropical, plant designs are an important component of the overall plan.

Alternatively, if you have a bed that looks a little empty or needs revamping, I am happy to meet with you for a free talk and quotation.

We will stay in close contact with you through every step of the design process, making sure we are creating the garden of your dreams.

The next step is to survey the garden. Taking accurate measurements and difference in levels, whilst taking note of any trees or shrubs that you would like to keep or have removed.

We will create 2 designs for you to choose from. Both will have different ideas based on our previous discussion and your brief. The designs will include planting ideas and a choice of different materials. You can select either design, or you can combine elements of both designs to create the final colour drawing.

We will give you a full breakdown of itemised costings, which include the plant list and cost of materials.

Maintenance is crucial to make sure your garden offers its full potential. We really care about what we do, and we show it by regular and reliable visits throughout the year, no matter what the weather is doing.

Our aim is to give you a tailored maintenance service taking care of your plants, using correct pruning techniques, training any shrubs, herbaceous perennials and climbers, weeding and spraying if you require, or if you like the option of gardening organically, we can use up to date techniques to deliver the best finish for you.

We do not just set out to maintain your garden but to enhance it, which is what makes us different from the rest. Our skilled care and green fingers will make sure that your outdoor space is managed to the highest level.

We have a saying that says 'if you look after the soil, the soil will look after the plants,' which means that conditioning the soil, mulching and fertilising are all aspects that we like to concentrate on, ensuring the plants have the best chance to achieve their best results.

You can pay either weekly or monthly and can set up a direct debit if you so wish. We can also discuss if you would like your waste taken away, although this will require an additional charge.

We offer soft landscaping services, including planting, creating new beds for flowers and shrubs, vegetable gardens, fruit orchards and turfing.

We like to enhance every garden we work on, giving you suggestions of how you can tailor it to meet your requirements. This is done mainly during the winter months, as the rest of the year in concentrated on maintaining your outdoor space.

We are trained horticulturists and our love for plants means that we are always striving to create and develop the best planting beds; picking the right plants for the style and colour theme that you are looking for, dependant on the aspects, soil type and budget that you have.

If your garden is overgrown, looking sorry for itself or in need of a good revamping, we offer a garden clearance service.

Cutting back any overgrown lawns, shrubs, climbers, and some minor tree work.

This is a good idea if your planning on having regular maintenance done. We can remove any major shrubs or other garden debris so when we maintain it we can concentrate on the more important things.

This will include a one off charge and we can discuss this when I come to visit. Following on from this, if you require further maintenance I will send you a breakdown through a quotation.

Pruning is a very important aspect of gardening and doing it the right way is critical to the plants health, structure and growth. My service concentrates on doing it at the right time of year depending on the plant.

Seasonal Pruning

Different plants need cutting back at different times of year, this is done to promote good growth and optimal fruit and flowering, whether its pruning back a Buddleja in spring, apple trees in summer or Peonies in autumn.

Climbers

Using the vertical space in a garden maximises its potential and climbers are a great way to do this. They tend to grow with great vigour and need pruning, whether its a Clematis, Honeysuckle, Passion flower, Jasmin or a Wisteria, they all have different times to cut them back, if you do this incorrectly it can mean that you miss a season of flowers and blooms.

Topiary

Topiary can be shaped in many different forms, the regular being spheres and cones, although other shapes can be formed, including spirals and different animal shapes. Many require a long time to grow using mesh structures and require a lot of skill to get right, they are usually made from Buxus or Yew and require sharp tools to create the best finish. They need to be cut regularly to encourage thicker growth.

Roses

Roses come in many different forms, climbing, rambling, hybrid tea, shrub, tree, floribunda and minature roses. They all require regular deadheading to encourage flowers and pruning at the right times of year to give the rose a good framework for the plant to thrive.

Fruit Trees & Shrubs

In order for your trees and shrubs to give you an abundance of fruit, pruning is vital. It needs to be done at the right time of year to enable your plants to thrive, if it is not, then the opposite can occur. We concentrate on winter and summer pruning, training espaliers, cordons or fans and can also do soft fruits, from raspberries to gooseberries.

Hedges

Pruning hedges gives your garden structure, whether its an informal or formal space. There are many different types from deciduous, evergreen and flowering. Depending on what hedge you have will depend on how often they need cutting back, some grow quicker than others. But all will need at least one if not two cuts a year to make them look tidy.

Renovation and development of your outdoor space is something that we like to keep on top of. Whether this is changing your seasonal planting, using crop rotation on your vegetable patch or putting some turf down to increase the play area for you and your family. We can sit down and discuss what your hopes and needs are, then we can create!
