The last few years I have put a lot of attention into understanding my Mum’s dementia and the trigger that cause and exacerbate it. There are many nuances and it requires real care and understanding. It takes a lot out of you I can tell you. The brining in carers is a bit like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re are going to get. Two things that I find rare in carers are initiative and common sense. I honestly have interviewed the best part of 40 carers before I found 1 that was of a good enough standard to look after my Mum to the standard that she needs. A lots of careres that can only provide the bare minimum standard. Not really caring deeply for the person that they are in charge of.



We have been fortunate to met Sarai and Westcliff Healthcare. Initially finding and interviewing Sarai via care.com for a role as a carer for my Mum, it soon became apparent that Sarai could not only get a really good understanding of my Mum’s care needs but she was extremely hard working and could manage all of the aspects of my Mum’s care. Over the last 9 months West Cliff Healthcare have worked tirelessly to ensure that the people caring for my Mum are good hard working people that work with me to ensure that Mum is safe and looked after at all times.



They have taken the burden of interviewing carers off my hands any only presented me with carers that are of an high standard, That is a huge credit to them as I worked in HR for years and have very high standards. The carers brough in work hard, ensuring that Mum has freshly cooked food and is engaged all day. So that at the end of the day she sleeps and doesn’t wake throughout the night. They ensure she gets exercise and co-ordinate food needs so that she isn’t constipated or or incontinent and thus lowering the risk of getting infections.



Over the last few months I have been able to hand over the rota and scheduling for the carers too and I have finally started to get my life back on track as the people I have here looking after my Mum have given me the level of trust that I need to undertake this very important task.
