What do you love most about your job?
I always knew I was destined to be a therapist since I was a teenager and have always been passionate about mental health and wellbeing, which is why I have spent the last 13 years not just training in a variety of therapeutic approaches, but also keeping up with ever-changing research and my own continued professional development.
Seeing someone flourish through personal growth and empowerment is the best thing I take away each day.
What inspired you to start your own business?
There’s nothing more satisfying than building something from scratch and taking pride in the hard work and effort you’ve put into something you’re strongly passionate about.
Also, who doesn’t love being their own boss?!
Why should our clients choose you?
I’ve been in the client seat many times throughout my life, so I know how it feels to access support during difficult times.
Which is why I’m dedicated to ensure each client’s individual needs are met and supported thoroughly throughout their healing journey by not applying a ‘one size fits all’ approach.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes. I can provide both telephone and video call sessions at request.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Risk assessments are carried out within the initial assessment and reviewed regularly in order to keep each client safe.
Rewind Technique
Rewind technique
This technique has been used successfully to help remove phobias and anxieties and OCD. It can settle and remove PTSD symptoms from trauma, and may also be used to help remove the negative emotions from disturbing memories.
Person Centred Therapy
Person-centred counselling is one of the humanistic modalities or approaches. It was founded in the 1940s by the American psychologist Carl Rogers who believed that, given the right conditions, a person can reach their full potential and become their true self, which he termed ‘self-actualisation’. This actualisation process is innate and accessible to everyone.
Many clients, with no prior knowledge of counselling, believe that the counsellor will sort their problems out for them. A person-centred counsellor will help you to explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviour, and worldview, so you can become more self-aware and achieve greater independence.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
CBT teaches you coping skills for dealing with different problems. It focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and actions.
CBT combines two types of therapy to help you deal with these thoughts and behaviours:
Cognitive therapy, examining the things you think
Behaviour therapy, examining the things you do.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy helps you understand how your current feelings and behaviour are shaped by your past experiences and your unconscious mind and impulses.
This can help you understand what you’re feeling now, why you behave in a certain way and how this affects your relationships.
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
Solution-Focused Therapy is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.
Transactional Analysis (TA)
Transactional analysis is a talking therapy and sessions are designed to explore an individual's personality and how this has been shaped by experience - particularly those stemming from childhood. This is achieved through skilful questioning and the utilisation of various models, techniques and tools.
As a result, it is particularly useful where there are issues of conflict, confusion or where something is lacking. Relationship issues - between families, friends and couples - tend to benefit greatly, as TA encourages clients to address problems that have built up over time.
Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
