Visiting Angels took over my dads care recently and we are delighted with the service they provide. Following 3 other companies provided by Stirling Council who were not acceptable, we have found them to be genuine & caring . The carers have enough time to actually do what is required and take an interest in Dad. They are quick to react to any problem and to resolve any issues promptly. Exceptional, compassionate, and truly life-changing care! Before this home care company began supporting my Nan, our family felt completely overwhelmed. Her dementia had progressed to a point where she needed constant reassurance, patience, and understanding, and we simply couldn’t provide the level of support she deserved on our own. From the moment their carers walked through the door, everything changed. Over the months that have followed, they have shown my Nan the most genuine kindness, dignity, and compassion. They take the time to understand her moods, calm her anxieties, and meet her where she is each day. With gentle encouragement and unwavering patience, they’ve helped her regain a sense of comfort and security that we hadn’t seen in a long time. Their flexibility has also been a huge blessing for our family—they’ve consistently adapted their visits to fit around our ever-changing schedules, often going above and beyond to make things easier for us. I have nothing but praise for Visiting Angels. I had been struggling with council organised care for myself for almost a year. It was dreadful, rushed and dehumanising. From the moment I called Visiting Angels I was spoken to with kindness, empathy and professionalism. I felt confident immediately that they ‘got it’. The team are extremely knowledgeable and have treated me as a human being worthy of care and respect. They listen and really understand how difficult personal care can be. They have taken their time to get to know me as an individual. I never feel rushed or unsafe. I feel myself again and I am confident that as my condition progresses, I will be in safe, caring and capable hands. They embody how a care agency should be and I would encourage anyone who is struggling with their care provider to give them a call and have a chat. I would highly recommend Visiting Angels. They managed to organise a 6 week care package for my mum at very short notice after she had a fall. There is always a level of respect and dignity afforded to my mother. All the carers are very responsive to my mothers needs and that has put my mind at ease, because if we were worried about something, we don't feel on our own with it. From doing her shopping, cleaning and taking her to hospital appointments and staying with her, there is nothing they won't do to make life easier in that respect and I am ever so grateful. I would like to highlight the fantastic support Elaine and Janice have given to dad over the last few days. During the red weather warning dad's power went off for 3hrs. Elaine turned up with soup, sandwiches and a flask of hot water for dad. This was so kind and dad really appreciated the support. On Saturday/Sunday he then had issues with his heating linked to the power cut. Janice supported him both days with ensuring the issues with the heating were resolved. Visiting Angels carers have been attending my mum now for just over a month ( started on Sept 2nd 2024). As a family we have seen a vast improvement in my mums wellbeing. She is well cared for by her small team of 3 carers who are professional and kindly in their manner but above all have common sense and use their initiative. The timing of visits and allocated duration of visits are perfectly suited to mums needs. We are very happy to have Visiting Angels as her care provider, they have greatly reduced our worry as a family and the anxiety my mum was feeling, ( this is obvious to us by her demeanour, the conversation, smiling, joking, eating and even her sleep pattern has improved). Visiting Angels have been a wonderful resource looking after my 81 year old mum when she was struggling on her own. They have been extremely proactive and professional. Sheena and Clare from Visiting Angels visited her and performed an assessment of care needs the day after contacting them. Care visits commenced the following week; very thorough, professional, friendly and caring. You don't get as much passion or energy in the care sector at the moment, and rightly so because of the challenges the sector faces. However, Clare and Sheena are the spark in the day you need. Over the past 6 months working together, there were some challenging points, but always positive moments and many laughs. Often, when people think of care, they think physical, but the mental effect can be more significant to a person.
