Umberto is an Italian Architect that I have worked with since 2007. He has designed and managed a number of projects during this time and has an eye for detail and design (as you might imagine with an Italian 😏), working high end and also working very cleverly making cost effective choices, that look great when combined with good design and the right materials even at the lower end of the scale.
He loves Ikea !
It has probably taken me at least a decade to understand the importance and benefits of designing something (it could be a kitchen, bathroom living room or a complete renovation project) with consideration. His projects often stand the test of time even years later.
One of the first projects carried out in 2007/8 still looks great today and the only thing that has changed since this time is the colour of the paint.
Each time a new tenant goes into this particular property to view it, they tend to take it straight away. This is quite an achievement 18 years later.
I still love it when I walk in through the door. The light travels through the flat in an away it never did before and it just feels welcoming in a way that many place don’t.
My favourite renovation is a Barn in Norfolk. Each time I walk into the place my heart sings .. there’s not a part of it that I don’t love .. but more than anything, it is the best kind of home.
