Have waited a year for my four year old daughter’s appointment. Finally comes through and they call to ask if I can cancel. I say no and explain why, we end up in a&e and the doctors multiple times a month for breathing issues. Had to come into A.E yesterday with a friend, from the minute we booked in the whole team were amazing. serious infection she had, within minutes a blood test, ecg, blood pressure taken and seen by several medical staff who were amazing. the domestic staff were so polite and extremely tidy , the place was spotless. she was admitted to admission ward, the care was amazing. the sister Sarah was the kindest and caring member of staff I'd ever encountered in St Thomas. she arranged some food for people arriving too. a huge well done to A.E and admission ward. thank you. So today I had three wisdom teeth removed under general anaesthetic.. they had to be cut out. But I wanted to share with everyone as to how amazing their level of care and service is they really looked after me from the moment of the consultation down to the very end. And I was extremely nervous and I don’t really like taking a trip to the dentist haha ! Before starting the surgery I had a lovely lady talking to me who was extremely friendly and so warm and caring. And at the end I had a really friendly nurse who really helped me recover and come back round. Not many nhs hospitals are able to provide this level of care because they are so stretched but these guys are amazing. Would highly recommend for anything being done More...

Whilst visiting London from Leeds for a long weekend, our 8 year old fell unwell. Needing to get him checked out medically we were sent to Guys and St Thomas’ A&E. Their thoroughness was unbelievable, and our visit was more serious than we expected. All staff were amazing, and once admitted to Mountain ward in Evelina, the excellent care continued. My son took himself to Queen Elizabeth hospital where they found he had had a heart attack our family were dotted everywhere that evening! !! Spain,Portugal,Manchester,Norfolk so it was a mad rush for everyone to get to him I was told he was being transferred to St. Thomas hospital unbeknown to me he was in an ambulance sirens and blue lights, I rang St Thomas and was told they knew he was on his way but would be going straight for a procedure and then on to a ward the person answering my call treated me as a person and told me it would be better for me to ring in about an hour and then procedure would be over and my son would be on a ward We managed to even speak with my son that evening and was told the procedure was not an option once they looked so he went to Becket Ward and thought he might have an open heart surgery next day again not an option as my son had had to much blood thinners so had to wait for this to pass through the body before he could get his much needed surgery everyone on Becket Ward were kind and considerate they kept my son stabilised until operation on the Thursday afternoon and even then we were allowed to walk beside him to the theatre I can’t thank everyone enough!! Every question we had we were given an answer as if we were the first person to ask that question!! My son has a terrible fear of hospital and needles and all his notes this was noted !! Even when the operation was discussed with doctors they took in the fact of my sons work !! After the operation he went to overnight intensive recovery unit and as expected was in a lot of pain and confusion but he was cared for with lots of pain relief then on to Doulton HDU the doctors and nurses all brilliant and helped to keep his spirit up then on to Doulton Ward again brilliant care before discharge I can’t thank you all enough doctors nurses orderlies so from Sunday heart attack to operation on the Thursday and discharge on the Tuesday!! My father was taken unwell on a day trip, he was admitted to admissions ward, room 19, we come from Southampton, so never been to this hospital. Absolutely superb care, from the porter who went out of his way to assist my mum with a chair, nursing staff who were professional, compassionate, excellent communication, and put my father right at ease, the Doctor Clare, who also took time to sit and explain all to us and showed much interest in my father, ensuring that he was fit to go home. A huge thank you to Anne ward who shared the same outstanding attributes as Admission ward, we are grateful for the high standard of care given from all. Not forgetting Emergency Department staff in resus who also explained by phone to me with compassion as I was so far away, thank you.
