I needed a structural survey done urgently on a residential property in order to secure a mortgage. I advertised the job and Survey World contacted me promptly. They understood the urgency of my situation and took it very seriously. It is no exaggeration to say they took the matter "personally" in a way that pleasantly surprised me. They listened to me to understand my concerned in a reassuring way. By their professional and confident conduct I was quickly reassured that all will be ok. Normally the survey and report would take weeks. However, they made room in their diary to get me the report ASAP, within 24 hours, depending on how soon they can get access to the property. Paul Weston was the structural engineer assigned to the case. Getting access to the tenanted property was not easy. They liaised persistently with the letting agent to arrange urgent access.
As soon as they secured appointment they attended without delay. Paul completed the survey on 22/10/2024 and I received the report on 23/10/2024 at around 9am.

I give them top mark on customer service, professionalism, industry knowledge and reliability.

I am a FTB and found a large crack in my new house's concrete floor on the first day I collected the keys. I contacted Paul and his team in a panic not knowing what to do. Paul arranged a site visit within 2 days of me making initial contact. He arrived, carried out his wonderful work and I had the full structural report a day after his visit. While Paul was on site, he also took me through exactly what was happening with the floors in my new house, which helped put my mind at ease. I cant express how grateful I am to Paul and for the work he did - prior to his visit I was a nervous wreck and had not been able to sleep due to the stress and worry. Disgusting behaviour from PAUL.

Stay away from the guy named PAUL, such an arrogant and unprofessional. I have never ever experienced someone talking to a customer in such a bad way regardless of the circumstances.

If you don’t know how to talk to your customers you should learn that first rather than spoiling the company’s good will.

Such a shame.

This person instructed us to carry out a Structural Survey for his mortgage lender, however once the invoice was issued, he ignored all emails from our office and had repeatedly failed to make the payment prior to the survey. He then became annoyed that we had cancelled the survey due to non-payment and proceed to give us numerous well worn excuses. We have seen his type many times before over 30+ years, hoping to get the survey done, find out the results first and then decide if you want to pay or not...sorry, I'm afraid it doesn't work like that, we were not falling for that old trick. He wasn't happy that we called him out about it and has resorted to writing a childish and spiteful review which frankly says way more about him than we could possibly say.. I cannot recommend Paul highly enough. As a first-time buyer I received a pretty scathing, yet unclear survey which recommended further assessment by a structural engineer. Paul was so helpful from our first conversation, he was able to carry out the structural assessment promptly and sent us his full report promptly. He has remained accessible and has been able to answer further questions and give us ongoing advice. His experience working with insurance companies enables him to give a rough estimate of potential costs of repair works, which will help guide the ongoing purchase.
