Q&As

People. All walks of life. Everyone has a story. Problem solving and mediation. Sometimes it just needs all cards out on the table.
Watching the business you supported drive forwards with a happy happy workforce.

Feedback.
Working as a consultant for a business management company, clients suggested I work freelance. I can work further afield, over weekends and evenings.
I am midst aquiring my ILM level 5 in effective coaching and mentoring.
I can use the quiet periods to study.

I bring a unique combination of experience, empathy, and expertise to every project I undertake:
   •   Approachable and Honest: I pride myself on being warm, kind, and genuine. My open and non-judgmental nature ensures that people feel comfortable sharing their concerns and challenges with me—nothing surprises or shocks me.
   •   Extensive Experience: With over 20 years as a trade union steward, I’ve advocated for employees, navigated complex workplace dynamics, and built a deep understanding of employment relations. My experience as a senior operations manager in a uniformed service has further honed my leadership and organisational skills.
   •   Balanced Perspective: As a working mother, I understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance and the challenges employees face in achieving it. This insight allows me to craft HR strategies that are both practical and people-focused.

By combining my professional expertise with a human-centered approach, I help businesses create workplaces where employees thrive, and organisations succeed.

Yes of course.
If you need me to attend, I’ll be there.

Taken all precautions.
Will not travel to any workplace if I demonstrate any symptoms.

Administer an employee handbook, bespoke and in fitting with your business.

What is an Employee Handbook?

An employee handbook is a document that provides employees with essential information about a company’s policies, expectations, and workplace guidelines. It serves as a key resource for employees and employers to ensure clarity, consistency, and legal compliance in the workplace.

This a document that requires regular updates. This is to ensure it is in line with new legislative changes.

Is there workplace toxicity? Divided workforce?
Let me come in with a solution to heal work place fall outs in a non confrontational way.
I am great with people. I get to the crux of the issue. I implement tried and tested methods that have proven successful.
It doesn't stop there. We will look at a way forward to prevent future episodes.

Talent acquisition is recruitment with pinch of stardust.
Its about finding the right person that fits the role perfectly.
Not just technical expertise, its also the person.
Would they be as asset to the business? Do they seem approachable? Will they fit in?

I can support you with your search.
Recruitment comes with legislative compliance. It can be a minefield.
We can work together finding the right recruit.

Small and medium sized businesses don't always have a specific HR structure. The reason is down to the size of the business and the demands for HR information.

Sometimes all that's needed is a small amount of accessibility to HR information.
One point of access, to obtain everything.
You don't need HR specific software to make it happen. Just a database of everything.
I can come in, ascertain requirements, and put together a proposal outlining what's needed.
I can package all the documentation, templates and policies if you don't already have them.

I know, the words can make you stop and think "I hope I don't have to experience this"
No I hope you don't either. Never say never. There may come a time when your only option is to take action.
It can be emotionally demanding administering a disciplinary. It can create tension, and of course fall out. There may be a suspension involved. A grievance is just as stressful.
Navigating an investigation, interviewing, and its all time bound.
The way forward is to conclude the matter as efficiently as possible.
Determine whether it's misconduct, serious misconduct, or gross misconduct can be baffling.
Or, is the grievance upheld? Overturned?
all have a consequence.
I can support you with all of the above. Let me take the weight. I am detached from the business. An unbiased, approach can make all the difference.

If an employee or past employee believes there are grounds for unfair dismissal, or treatment there is a small possibility that they may want to submit form ET1 to the Employment Tribunal Central Office.

However protocols must be followed. of this can happen without ACAS early conciliation first.
This is the opportunity to nip the issue in the bud before it reaches court.

I can support the business and offer guidance during such times, completing the right documentation, pointing you in the right direction, when to fight on, when to settle and when to appoint a solicitor.

Industry evolves, workforces evolve.
Have you evolved too?
Chances are there will be some area's where you will have definitely moved forwards.
IT, working arrangements, hybrid, remote, the latest decor in the office?
What about your management style? Millennials now make up 70% of the workforce. Do you understand them the same as say a workforce 5 or 10 years ago?
It's industrial evolution.
We need to evolve as managers too.

Leadership training is critical to business success, employee engagement, and long term growth.
string leaders motivate and inspire their teams to perform at their best.
Builds a strong workplace culture.
Its about recognising your own strengths and applying them effectively. Also looking closely at areas of weakness and turning them into a positive.

There's so much more to leadership training than meets the eye.
I've seen the difference its made. You could to.

I can offer help and guidance supporting any manager.
I can create a bespoke guide looking at managing appraisals, absence management, dealing with complex personalities and any specific issues. You name it, I can package it.
