I deeply regret choosing UENI to build my website. What started as a hopeful partnership quickly turned into months of missed deadlines, poor communication, and an unfinished, non-functional website. Despite numerous follow-ups, the work delivered was careless, rushed, and far below professional standards. Requested edits were either ignored or implemented poorly, and at no point did the site become usable, let alone publishable. After months of delays and subpar revisions, I had no choice but to cancel the service. What made the situation worse was their dismissive handling of my refund request. Their response boiled down to “sorry, you're past the 30-day window,” despite the fact that they never actually delivered the product. They offered a free month of service and a phone call instead, a gesture that feels hollow when the fundamental service was never fulfilled. This is not just unprofessional, it’s exploitative. UENI overpromises, underdelivers, and hides behind vague fine print to avoid consequences. Ultimately, they failed to deliver on every front: design quality, communication, timeliness, and accountability. I've had a great experience with Ueni so far. I used them to create a new website for my longstanding business when my former company was both too expensive and not responsive. Ueni had a great balance between creating a new site for me but incorporating all the elements I asked for. Unlimited editing truly helped me to make it my own. The training on how to use the site for do-it-yourself edits and to deal with all the things that the site can do was thorough and helpful. I signed up for UENI’s Plus Plan with high hopes. I submitted detailed content, uploaded images, and clearly outlined my brand voice and business expertise. Seven days later, I had the review call. Immediately after that call—and before I even had time to digest the disappointment—I received an email suggesting I upgrade to their Growth Plan, where UENI would “professionally” write my content. Seriously? They had already ignored everything I submitted and produced generic, soulless copy that sounded like corporate wallpaper. Now they wanted me to pay more for more of that. The design was barely okay—but the content? Absolutely awful. They completely missed the mark on every level. Despite my submissions, they discarded my work and used AI-generated content (they even left “made with ChatGPT” visible on the site). The result? Boring, robotic, and utterly off-brand. As someone who works in communication and emotional intelligence, this wasn’t just inaccurate—it was damaging to my credibility. Worse, the visual layout of locked, non-editable sections was disturbing and not disclosed upfront. I was told I could edit everything, but that turned out to be false. The footer and other core areas are locked, clunky, and impossible to make my own. The only redeemable feature? You can call a real human during U.S. business hours, Monday through Friday. But that’s not enough to outweigh everything else. After I rewrote the entire site myself to try and salvage it, one accidental click erased all my work. There’s no version history, no rollback button—just lost progress and frustration. To top it off, the blog was a total embarrassment. It featured low-grade stock photos and generic, inaccurate posts supposedly “optimized for SEO” that completely butchered my voice and expertise. I was also misled about HTML integration. I was told it would be plug-and-play with my CRM and back office keap software—it absolutely wasn’t. Bottom line: If you have a unique, bold brand, and you value having creative control, skip UENI. The platform is limited, the editing experience is clunky, and the content creation is beyond disappointing. And I now I just received an email reminding me to connect my site to a domain… Really ?? Anyone Listening ? --------- Spoke to a customer service 2x today .. the next few days will determine if UENI takes action to do as they advertise " Get a website that actually does what you want" Right now the website does what UENI wants .. I tired them, didn't like the direction and lack of communication. I made several very specific detailed requests that seem to fall on deaf ears. Additionally , they attempted to upcharge me to connect to my already existing domain , even though it was clearly advertised it was included. Only after I asked to cancel did they concede and offer to do what I had already paid them to do. I asked to cancel my account since I was within my 30 days. They already had a version live with Google which is now causing issues with finding my live website I have with someone else. They said it was up to me to get Google to remove the de-indexing. That since I cancelled my account, it's was no longer their issue. Very unprofessional in my opinion and it's costing me leads. Zero stars if it was available. Edit after UENI reply: I think UENI's reply is exactly my point. I didn't say anything about the refund being an issue. Stephanie Briones at engageyourbiz.com had zero issues getting my domain and website working together. José sent me an email on July 9th agreeing to make the change if I would stay. So was it an upcharge issue? Or was it a can't be done issue? Seems like the answer is clearly an upcharge issue that, if I just would have agreed to the upcharge, they would have gladly taken and made the connection. Also, why does Google even know anything at all about my brand new company name that was literally less than one week old when I hired UENI, if not for UENI telling them about it and causing the indexing issues before the site was even close to being completed? It's something UENI can fix because they sent me the instructions on how to do it. They should be put back exactly like it was before I erroneously hired them. That's all I'm asking. They just said they're not going to because I cancelled, not that they couldn't, but that they won't. The circle talk continues... Like I said previously, zero stars if available! More...
