I have now been using Silver Cloud Services for a number of years and each time the service provided has been excellent to my satisfaction. Annual boiler service and the gas safe checks are very important to me and my tenants. Therefore, I always book well in advance to get a suitable day and time for the service and boiler checks. All the reviews I am reading about Silver cloud services cannot be right, as I have had the opposite from this company. It took Silver Cloud Services almost 3 weeks of me chasing them to provide me with a certificate of the botched servicing that was done. Over all, I would say this was the worst service I have encountered in my entire life and I would be not recommending them to any one. I had to pay another company to come out and service my boiler properly. I am utterly disappointed with this company and I hope I do not come across them AGAIN. More...

Boiler Repair or Maintenance

Think twice before choosing this company.
I described the issue in my ad, an engineer was sent and I was invoiced and at the end I have been told what I already know.
I purchased the part so that once the engineer visited and confirmed the issue it would be ready to be replaced. Instead an engineer was sent unprepared to actually fix the issue. So obviously it’s about making the maximum amount of money off of customers.
When I raised my concern they obviously tried to be technical and offered no solution.

I still have to look for someone to actually fix the problem, waste of time and money.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you feel this way, but we would like to clarify the facts for accuracy. The job you booked through Bark was for low pressure which, not for replacing the PRV. Your request stated that the boiler was losing pressure and that you “think” it may be the PRV. At no point there was no confirmation for PRV replacement, and as a professional company, we do not assume the required repair without a proper diagnosis. We clearly informed you in writing before the engineer attended that the visit was for a diagnosis only, and you agreed to proceed. During the visit, the engineer assessed the system and confirmed the findings, which was the purpose of the appointment. Repairs and replacements are always quoted after a diagnosis, once the exact issue is confirmed. This is standard practice across the industry to avoid unnecessary or incorrect work. We understand your frustration, but the service provided was exactly what was agreed, booked, and invoiced. We remain available should you wish to proceed with the repair. Hello Androulla, We’re sorry to hear you feel this way. The boiler installation was completed professionally and in full compliance with Gas Safe standards. You were rarely present during the installation, and the cupboard door was already removed before our visit. The Gas Safety Certificate was issued within the required 30 day period. All requested documents; including the certificate, warranty, paid invoice, and post-job quotation were provided. The flue installation was completed correctly and safely. They were okish but I would not use these guys again. Engineer didn't clean my boiler- was at mine for roughly 15 mins- just took temperature and said parts need replacing but quoted a rather outrageous price too.

I booked a gas engineer through Open Rent, for Silver Cloud services. They have been extremely unprofessional. It is difficult to speak to them, as on the phone line they keep repeating ‘I can’t hear you’ despite calling from landlines and mobile numbers. It sounded like they were answering on a headset in a public place. I confirmed the appointment for 21st March 2025 I did not hear from them so chased up through Open rent. I then rung the office and left my mobile number, and they said the engineer would call before attending. I didn’t not hear anything on the day of the appointment, so called Silver Cloud again, they gave me the mobile number of the engineer. I called him, and he has said he had attended the property and no one was in. Silver Cloud said they had no mobile number for me, which was inaccurate. Silver Cloud are now suggesting I pay them directly to obtain another appointment, essentially double charging me. I feel like this is a scam. More...

I did call on Wednesday in regards of a "ignition lockout" issue which was coming and going and also ask them to do a boiler service. I was booked in for service on Thursday, the engineer performed the service and the issue wasn't present after the engineer left. After just 2 hours from the service, the issue reappear but this time it wasn't coming and going, it was staying, and it was followed but a really huge gargling noise and I had no heating or hot water. I had called on Friday morning again explaining the situation and they said I was booked in just for a service and they could send someone in the afternoon with a call out fee. I had to call a different company as I needed someone asap as I had to go to work. The new company sent someone within the hour and they found the issue was caused by a blocked pipe which was full of built up crap, that pipe that caused the issue wasn't even looked at during the service "the pipe that connects the boiler to the outside of the house". Meaning that the service wasn't done properly and it costed me more money, plus half a day of work lost. A little more care taken during the job would have earned you a 5 star instead of this review. There is nothing "silver" about this company. Just a big dark cloud of inefficiency, lack of professionalism and complete contempt for customers and their time. They use the OpenRent platform to attract customers but bypass the rules of its booking system, i.e. two-hour time slots. I recently had Obe come out and fix my boiler...this man went above and beyond to sort out the problem, other engineers would probably have just wanted to put a new part on and charge for that and labour, he took time to find out if the issue could be fixed to keep costs down for me, it doesn't matter what goes on in my house plumbing wise now, I won't be going anywhere else, and will be recommending this company and Obe to everyone who might need work or servicing doing! !
