We had a wrap around extension done earlier on in the year and we were so pleased and grateful to how Sam and his team handled everything, we was on a tight schedule and deadlines were hit everytime with the windows, rsj beams etc.

Sam and his team are a really reliable and professional. Same came out to discuss the work and we received a quote a couple of days after which we thought was a fair, we decided to book SGH Carpentry & Build in and from start to finish it was a great experience.

The work was exceptional and we really are very impressed, we have booked in again for our loft in March 2026

My experience with Sam and SGH Carpentry and Build has been extremely disappointing. Communication has been plagued by misinformation, unfulfilled promises, and significant delays. Despite numerous assurances, the team frequently failed to show up as scheduled, causing ongoing frustration.

Of particular concerns are that plumbing has been left unfinished, serious leak issues in the roof and as a consequence damp and mould issues appearing now. Render and plastering was delayed by 6-8 weeks. Another concern is the fact that Sam has retained a key to my property for over eight weeks, despite multiple requests for its return. Each time, I was promised it would be returned "tomorrow" or "next week," but these commitments were never honoured.

He would give you a relatively good price, then he starts the job, cuts corners and leave the project unfinished! at the end the price which is assumed to be reasonable at the beginning will end up being much more with serious problems and frustrations. Regrettably, I cannot recommend SGH Carpentry and Build. They began the job but failed to complete it, leaving me to chase both progress and my property key. I remain hopeful that they will resolve these issues, and I will update this review accordingly. More...

Sgh carpentry and building carried out my shop fit, this was from a shell to a kitchen and appliance store ran by me and my family. Everything went smoothly and we had no problems with sam and his team they always wanted us to feel comfortable and helped bring me into the project with them by helping me out and giving there opinion on things which I liked as now it looks even better.

Sam come out and viewed our project, he took on our whole house renovation, bathroom, kitchen, re wire, decorating. He kept us up to date everyday on the progress of the works, sam and his team are amazing as really helpful. Would highly recommend, lovely team! All the work was a high quality and it come to a pint where we just let them get one with it without question as the trust was there. Great time keeping🙌🏽 Sam and Jim are amazing carpenters who have an eye to detail.

I very rarely leave reviews, however this is one business that is most deserving of one!

I had SGH carpentry&build do a full house renovation which included:loft conversion, bathroom,staircase and a kitchen fit along with plastering and painting to finish.

SGHs attention to detail was outstanding and they really worked hard to make this a good experience for me.From the planning stages to the completion of the project and beyond,I had complete trust with sam and his team and ongoing communication consistently.i am very happy with the skills, expertise’s and quality the trades service workers provided.

The project is now complete and I am thrilled with the result,They went above and beyond to not only deliver the renovation of my dreams but along the way they did all the little extras,keeping the house spotless at the end of each day, and always going the extra mile.

I highly recommend anyone to call and set up their first appointment, whether it be for a small project or a full scale one, you won’t be disappointed! I now have the home of my dreams!

Sam is a great tradesman and is always happy to help with things I couldn’t get my head around, always on time, always went that extra mile for me. Sam fitted 14 doors in my house, plastered my kitchen after removing the old one and then went onto installing my wren kitchen which had no faults at all it looks great I’m well impressed with his eye to detail. His labourer Ben is a very skilled labourer, he must be learning a lot working with Sam👏🏽

We are very happy with all Sam’s work, friendly, amenable and always reachable by call or text.
With a very old build house he worked very well with all the wonky door frames etc. Beautiful full new door way to our kitchen where there was previously a wall. In general nothing was too much trouble! When we thought of extras we would need doing it was no issue for him to add to his list. Happily went through jobs with us, asked our opinion, changed anything we weren’t 100% happy with and cleaned up each day. Would happily recommend and we will use his services in future. More...

Sam done a whole house refurbishment for me and my partner, his work is second to none and is also a lovely tradesman who will go out the way to help with everything.

Sam fitted a kitchen, bathroom and ensuite shower room for us, we also had the whole house plastered and new radiators throughout.

Sam did a brilliant job - very professional, reliable, and excellent workmanship at a fair price. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Sam built us a loft extension, we have had a ensuite and bedroom designed previously by other builders but they let us down, sam and his workers came in and done a fantastic job we’re over the moon. The cladding on the dormer is fitted with perfection and we’ve had many people from our road ask for his number. Lovely trademan and would 10000% recommend.
