I am a counsellor, working outdoors with walk & talk therapy. I am a psychodynamic therapist - this is a form of talking therapy which believes that you are informed today by your childhood. My form of therapy is helpful for those struggling with anxiety and depression and it can also be helpful for those with a ADHD/ND diagnosis.

What do you love most about your job?
It's a privilege to work with people who have the courage to come to counselling and work towards better mental health. I find it incredibly inspiring to see individuals make significant changes in their lives, facilitated by counselling.
The process is challenging and requires courage, but witnessing a client's journey of growth towards a stronger, more resilient version of themselves is what keeps me passionate about the impact that counselling can have.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I love counselling and love walking and talking in the outdoors. I want to share my love of being in the outdoors.
Why should our clients choose you?
I offer clients the chance to meet in the outdoors and to benefit from the trees, nature and movement. I work with the aim of making sure clients feel safe throughout their counselling journey. It can be hard at times. Clients may feel they don't want to continue, this is when therapy is really working. Being able to push through and use all your courage to continue really helps the process work and I work hard to help people carry on to the end, so they can really benefit from their therapy.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I don't provide online or remote working - I am an outdoor therapist & would consider face to face session indoors on request. Working in the outdoors is very beneficial to the body and helps reconnect body & mind and is thought to help reduce anxiety.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
we meet outside so this should be easier to manage Covid
Walk & Talk Therapy
Walk and Talk Therapy offers a different approach to traditional talking therapy, with the main difference being that we walk outdoors in nature during the session, rather than sitting in a counselling room.
The key elements of therapy—listening, reflecting, and processing emotions—remain the same. However, the outdoor environment provides a less intense atmosphere, which many people find helps when discussing difficult emotions. Nature has a calming effect, and if there are moments where you're unsure of what to say, the sounds and sights of the outside world can create a gentle pause, easing the pressure to speak right away.
How it works:
We would agree on a meeting place in advance. If you have favourite spots, we can meet there, or I can suggest locations—whether it's a park in Kirkcaldy, a walk along the beach, or other nearby areas. If the weather isn't ideal, like when it's raining, I often recommend wooded areas, which offer some shelter. The most important thing is that the location feels safe and comfortable for you.
Next steps:
If you'd like to discuss this further, we can arrange a brief call—either on the phone or via Zoom. Let me know what times suit you, or I can send over some options.
