I can offer as little or as much design input as you need - from on site consultancy to concept, planting and construction drawings for an entire garden. Design fees are based on the time involved which will reflect the size of the garden and the budget for the project. I may be able to give you an indicative costing by reviewing your garden on Google Earth.

1. Consultation. This for people who wish to dip their toes in the waters of garden design or just want a starting point for their own garden restoration. I will visit to go through your goals, review the garden layout and planting, and make recommendations with a follow-up report. £350 + travel
2. Formal plans. This is more relevant where a client wants definite changes and needs scale drawings from which to have works delivered. Depending on the requirement there may be several stages to the design process. Where it is a whole garden, or large part of a garden, and there is extensive remodelling required we may need firstly to review the entire layout and style of the area concerned. This is dealt with in a Concept Plan. This explores arrangement, shapes, materials, levels, practical elements such as dining, BBQ, relaxed seating, water features, pool etc, movement through the space and styling in a scale drawing prepared using specialist CAD software. This plan is accompanied with photos of materials and planting as moodboards. Though the drawing is to scale this drawing is essentially a tool to convey my proposals to the client. Prices for concept plans range from around £1000 for a small garden, or part of a garden, to over £4000 for a very large garden. After this, or as a separate project where the first stage is not needed, I can then prepare construction plans, cross-sections and detailed planting plans – each element can be purchased as needed. For a planting plan for a small garden or large border prices start at around £800.
