Mr Gough
Home & Domiciliary Care
A really friendly, helpful and efficient team of genuine carers
Rachel Critchley
I couldn’t fault Right at Home. They are so supportive and everyone goes the extra mile. The people I have met genuinely care about their clients and their staff. I have known them for a year now and did a lot of research prior to this into other domiciliary care companies. From first impressions onwards I knew straight away that they were the ones! Thank you, Right at Home More...

What do you love most about your job?
We love to make a difference in our clients' lives by not just going in to do another care job, but by setting goals that clients and their families want to achieve and helping them work towards that.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started this business having been through receiving care for my grandmother. Not happy with the way she was being cared for gave me the impetus to start my own care business which put the person at the heart of delivering outstanding care. We aim to improve our clients' lives and for them to maintain their independence by staying in their own homes.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are different because each person is unique and we adapt to the client themselves. We value our time with our clients and aim to make a difference by offering person-centred care, not just to have another client. No request is too small or too big, each person whose life we can impact in a positive way is a person better off in our community.
Companionship & Support
Why is companionship important?
Companionship can have huge benefits to the mental and physical health and wellbeing of a person. Social interaction can be an important factor in preventing isolation and loneliness in the elderly.
Here at Right at Home Solihull, we understand the value of having a friendly and trusted visitor to talk to. Our homecare support team go beyond helping with daily activities. When it comes to companionship, our Carers in Solihull always aim to put a smile on someone’s face.
What are the benefits of companionship and support?
Companionship can allow you to regain or enable your independence by getting out in the community and boosting your self-esteem. Our Clients love to experience community life in Solihull, including some examples of local community activities.
Our CareGivers are available to support however and whenever they are needed. Companion care can help you take the first steps towards meeting new people, rediscovering old hobbies or taking up new interests.
Above all, we aim to match our CareGivers and Clients so they share interests and personality traits. This way, both can benefit from a genuine friendship, built on trust and mutual understanding.
You’ve got a friend in us…
Personal Care
Personal care is support that involves physical contact between a CareGiver and Client. This can include washing, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence care. Personal homecare incorporates all of these services, within the comfortable and familiar surroundings of your own home.
Our specially trained and trusted team of CareGivers pride themselves on being discreet and professional at all times. Thanks to our detailed care plans, they know exactly how each Client likes to maintain their personal routines.
The level of care we provide can be tailored completely to your needs and preferences. Our CareGivers support Clients to whatever level is necessary. They may provide full physical support, or simply wait outside the room in case they are needed. Sometimes, just knowing that someone is available at hand can help vulnerable and older people to live independently.
Elderly Care
At Right at Home, we provide homecare for elderly people, in their own homes. Whether you, or a family member, needs a little extra help around the house, Right at Home can support you. Our home help for elderly people ranges from assistance at either end of the day to 24-hour support. We make arranging care as easy as possible – all from the comfort of your own home.
Our homecare services can support seniors with those every day tasks that may have become difficult to manage. We recognise that daily activities may not be as easy to complete as they once were. But our friendly team of CareGivers can help with dressing, bathing, cooking and more.
Sometimes referred to as ‘domiciliary care’, our services offer social care for elderly people, at home. Our specially trained and friendly team of CareGivers provide support with a wide-range of tasks, including:
- Housework, such as cleaning, laundry and vacuuming
- Shopping and running errands
- Cooking meals, to your personal tastes
- Washing and physical assistance
- Personal care, to maintain good hygiene
- Continence care, from help using the toilet to changing pads or catheters
- Medication support, offering reminders to ensure medication is taken on time
Hospital to Home Care
Our home from hospital care service is designed to support those returning home after being discharged from hospital. If you’re coming home following illness, injury, or an operation, it can be comforting to have the support of a CareGiver in place of hospital staff.
After a stay in hospital, Right at Home’s professional and personalised support can make the transition back home as relaxed and worry-free as possible.
Our homecare after hospital discharge services can encourage people to come out of hospital sooner. Our Clients feel confident in the knowledge that they have personal and practical support available that can reduce the risk of repeat injury and re-admission.
Respite Care
Respite care is temporary care to provide relief for a primary CareGiver. This may be arranged to cover a permanent CareGiver’s time off. Or, respite homecare may simply provide extra support as and when you need it. Respite care can be planned as one-off or regular visits, to provide peace of mind.
We could arrange a one-off visit, or regular visits to give a CareGiver a break from their caring responsibilities. Alternatively, we can provide support as and when it is needed. It could be just for an hour or two, or it could be managed live-in care for a number of weeks. You may simply need companionship and security checks, or full support for someone with more complex care needs.
Regardless of the duration of the package or the level of care needed, our approach is based entirely on that person’s usual routines. Our aim is always to make a temporary change in care services as easy for our Clients as possible.
Dementia Care
We understand the difficulties associated with living with dementia. More importantly, we can support your loved one to remain living independently in the comfort of their own home.
Our trusted team of CareGivers help to maintain a safe home environment for all Clients. We’ll also advise on any adaptations that will make life easier. We also work with Clients and their loved ones to provide:
- emotional support
- respite care, to allow family carers to take a break
access to local services
- personal care and complex care, where required
- a personalised care package to anticipate and meet changing needs.
At Right at Home, we also have official Dementia Champions. We partner with the Alzheimer’s Society, so our team members are trained by experts. Every Dementia Champion delivers free information and awareness sessions to businesses and individuals across the local community. Our aim is to help more people to understand what it is like living with dementia.
Stroke Rehabilitation & Homecare
Life after a stroke is different for every individual. Most people see some level of recovery during their stay in hospital. Many continue to recover and regain skills by following a care plan for stroke survivors at home.
Care plans following a stroke require input and development from a specialist stroke recovery team in hospital.
At Right at Home, our homecare for stroke patients can include:
- helping with mobility
- continence care
- managing and administering medication
household tasks
- transport
- shopping
Importantly, our professional CareGivers can also support Clients with their recovery and rehabilitation by assisting them to maintain their exercise routines and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Right at Home also has a Clinical Specialist, based at National Office, who is available to assist CareGiver teams across the network when caring for a stroke survivor.
