Incompetent, two attempts at fitting a shelf to a decent standard. Boards not cut straight and tried covering it up with poorly fitted, 70s style quadrant. I mean, look at it. Boards have nails fired through the surface despite specifically asking for them to be fitted correctly. Sink piping was painted black, again, just look at it.

Dave also quoted us £2400 for an open wardrobe frame, of which, thankfully, we had completed by someone else to a beautiful standard for £800. Unjustifiable and frankly pretty shameful.

Comes across very likeable and does a good "we'll make it special" sales pitch, but despite polite requests has no intention of putting this right. The young lad who we orignally assumed was the apprentice is actually the carpenter, not Dave. Feels like we got guinea pigged. Our advice would simply be to avoid. More...

After years of happy customers, this is our first ever negative review (please look at Bark reviews for years of happy customers) It's been 6 months since we left you as a happy customer so this comes as a bit of a shock. George is a fully qualified city and guilds carpenter and a 50% partner in the business so you were certainly not a guinea pig. We went the extra mile to achieve your goal, we fitted the new custom-made worktop and then you decided you had changed your mind about the colour you had picked so we came back and completed the work a second time (within a few days at no extra cost). During drying times we repainted your full bathroom, painted a feature wall in your bedroom and had a qualified plumber fit new taps in your kitchen (all free of charge). I myself missed the second coat on the pipework which is under and behind the sink though I will have to accept that mistake and learn from it. As for the trim, this is standard practice to be pinned down to be secured. I'm not sure why you have now decided you don't like the trim and you have lifted it, it covers the imperfections in the wall of your very old cottage (which are seen in your picture) and was treated to blend in with the new solid wood custom worktops. This was a bespoke worktop setup fitted by a fully qualified Plumber, Carpenter and Decorator, sourcing 20-year-old scaffold boards, treated with top quality Osmo oils for around £500, the work was completed twice as you changed your mind on the colour as it was important to me you were left with an end result you could enjoy

GDR re-decorated the interior of our whole house over a period of just under 3 weeks. They assisted in choosing the correct type of paint and choice of brands for all the walls, ceilings and doors, including the supply of charts for our colour choices. Their working practice was to allow us the maximum space as they went from room to room and were respectful of our home possessions and timetables. They were extremely trustworthy and were frequently left alone in the house.

The workmanship from their three man team was excellent, they were extremely polite and they left our house very tidy at the end of each day. We would highly recommend this young company who definitely go the extra mile. More...
