We offer one-to-one (or more depending on the needs of the client) care and continuous support in the development of every child and young person in our care. We do this by:
• Balancing the needs of the individual client or young person while developing the social dynamics of the community in which they live, to help every child develop skills and independence to take them positively into adulthood.
• Providing every client with educational and learning opportunities that enables them to meet their full potential.
• Taking an active approach to learning and living where children are supported and encouraged to participate in a range of social and leisure activities.
• Supporting the development and improvement of daily living skills
• Encouraging contact with family and others in accordance with their care plan.
• Taking the emotional needs and wishes of every child or young person into account when planning their care.
• Understanding and addressing individual needs in terms of age, gender, race, sexuality, and disability, as well as meeting specific cultural and religious needs
• Providing the opportunity for every young person to experience stability, a sense of belonging, and the ability to explore and celebrate their own identity.
• Supporting every child and young person to learn the skills they need to move on positively to adult living.
We work based on being a good support system for our young people providing structure, support, encouragement and guidance together with emotional warmth. Our staff provide positive role models for the young people we support. Our homes also offer therapeutic input, either within the home itself or within an appropriate educational environment. We understand that no two children or young person are alike, and as such, all our solutions are child-centred and entirely bespoke for the unique needs of each young person in our care. The purpose of therapy is to empower our young people to overcome their limitations and develop valuable skills for the future, enabling them to re-engage with their lives in a meaningful and functional way.
The type of accommodation we offer varies depending on our client. However, our staff will always support young people to work towards their goals and build their confidence for the future regardless of the supported housing they live in. We will treat young boys and girls with dignity and respect by being aware of and supporting their personal perspectives, values, beliefs, and preferences.
To maintain the standard of our homes, we conduct annual inspections in line with Ofsted standards and ratings. This is what makes us unique, and this means we can offer better quality care, support, and housing.
We develop individual programs tailored to each of our care leavers' needs. Moreover, we work in a flexible and open way.
At Our Rock we develop individual programs tailored to each of our young people' needs. Moreover, we work in a flexible and open way. We do this in a Holistic approach and by doing this we aim to:
• Provide young people, with a positive residential experience.
• Provide educational support in order for young people to gain the skills, knowledge, and attitude needed to live outside the institutional care system.
• Create a living experience where they can foster relationships and personal resources, which they can use to gain the ability, confidence, knowledge respect, skills, and trust to care for them.
• Integrate young people into society so that they can treat others with respect in a non-oppressive way.
We help individuals to build their independence, resulting in self-sufficiency.

The level of key worker support that we allocate depends on the young person's level of need. This can range from more extensive 1:1 support, 2:1 support, 3:1 support, 4:1 support, 5:1 requiring up to 24-hour care. The types of packages offered will be risk assessed at the outset and tailored to meet the young person's needs.
We believe that our young people should be supported to achieve their goals specifically in relation to education and employment if they are to live sustainable lives. We can support our young people around their educational needs and have links with local schools and colleges. We also have links with pro-vocation courses.
We also liaise with external agencies to support the work carried out with young people. This includes drug and alcohol services, advocacy services and CAMH services.
For the young person we will recommend a 1:1 support for him 24/7 which mentioned before Our Rock will support him with. We deemed this necessary as the young person some has some behavioural difficulties.
We have links to CAMHS and the council educational officer so we will refer her immediately for assessment so he can start a school which can support his needs.
We will have a robust behavioural support plan in place. This will allow “young person” to get the best support he needs while in the placement.
As mentioned above, our staff are trained and skilled to work with many children with different behavioural support needs. Our staff will support “the young person” and how he wants things to be handle.
As mentioned, before we believe in a holistic approach when it comes to looking after our young people in placement. If “the young person” likes routines staff will support that and keep to that schedule as we know this can make young person upset.
At Our rock we do a lot of sensory work, and the placements are located near parks. We like to take our young people out for walks to help with sensory skills. We also arrange activities to happen at the placement.
Anything else local authorities or any other services think the young person needs while in the placement. Our rock will make sure it is implemented so that young person can have peace of mind.
